Broken Sigil

Hey guys, i have decided to start a project log.
With my amount of grey plastic i really need something to motivate me to finish units, maybe sharing it with you all will help.

I'l start with whats my currently "work in progress" goal - to paint those 4 venoms.



So im gonna finish the upper body and then move on to the pilots and cabins.
Hoping for a little bit of friendly punch here )).

*sigh* I really NEED to learn to handle an airbrush gun .

Those are amazing! Really smooth transition and I like the choice of colours (reminds me of an evening sky). Its neither too blue-ish, nor too turqoise-ish, I really like it.

I can't wait to see some of your infantry models!

PS: It's ok to be a slow painter, if the results look like this It's not about speed, but about commitment and to keep painting, at least that's my experience

Transition is actually very easy to do, i notice many try to paint more lighter colours upon darker colours, thus creating the colour change.
I tried to go the other way around painting dark blue colour with very thin layer on the white base. That way you must apply only 2 colours actually, no lighter colour at all in the mix.

I have sprayed left over pure white areas with a glaze.

Also i sprayed from below the venom so that all those elevated areas caught the paint.

Those do look great, and I'm with Caspaar in that I really need to learn how to handle my airbrush. So far about the best I can do is use it for a base coat.

Hmm..returning to this "Kabal of very long painting")

I wanted very long time ago to paint archon from cover of 5th edition. It took several years to get proper head, but, oh well. He gave me inspiration in the first place. Will see how it goes. This here will be Lord Xerathis, Arhon of Broken Sigil, Old Terror.

A little bit of fluff for this Kabal

Xeerathis is the current Archon of the Kabal of the Broken Sigil. He is known for his love of terror tactics and spreading fear.

Infamous across the Imperium, entire conclaves of Ordo Xenos Inquisitors seek his demise and on multiple occasions Xerathis has found himself the quarry of Deathwatch Kill Teams. However it is said that he can even bring a Space Marine to cower in fear.

Broken Sigil Kabal takes its icon from the ancient Eldar glyph Drethuchii, loosely translated as the shattering of harmony. Like its namesake, the Kabal is infamous for its acts of discord. Whenever order and prosperity abound, the Broken Sigil will bring confusion and despair to even the most idyllic places in the galaxy. Terror tactics are much beloved by its Kabalites, so much so that Archon Xerathis is looked down upon his rivals for the "predictability" of his strategies.
