| Hey everyone, I'm working on a little street gang hellion-esque Kabalite raiding party. I assembled a few test models (mixing different DE sets to get a not so uniform look) and started painting one. The idea is, that the armour/cloth parts will be pretty basic, as the gang members lack money, but the accesoirs will be in shiny colours to give a "punk" sort of look. Here's the first test model (It looks brighter in real life): Now the main question: What to do with the weapon? Especially with the Frame (the part which usually is painted non-metal). I really could use some advice Cheers Caspaar | |

| I think it would depend on on what color you are using to complement or contrast with the green. The brown and gold are much more neutral colors. I wouldn't paint the weapon in a contrasting color, but you could paint the gems on the bulb part of the rifle in an accent color. The color wheel says something in a red/orange, though I'm not sure how well that would turn out. The rifle would probably look best in the great gold color that you have going if you were able to use an accent color to break it up. | |

| I found the artwork in our codex very inspirative - the pictures where our weapons are depicted among wargear. Several different styles shown there. Both contrasting and complementary. | |

| What about a verdigris bronze? I think that would be a nice different colour to set off the rest of the model (which looks really good so far) | |

| Thanks for all the input guys! I'll try something and upload pictures this evening or tomorrow! @Evil Space Elves: What great gold colour I appearantly have going are you talking about? or did you mean silver? I get what you are saying with the orange/red, but my cloth parts are in a very warm brown (as I already said, the original model is far brighter, the highlights are doombull brown), so I already got that contrast. I never thought about painting the bulbs of the rifle in different colours, but that would be a a nice way of getting some variety, good idea! @aurynn: Thanks, I followed your example and got a few ideas which I will try out! @spellcheck2001: Another really good idea! It would underline the "poverty" of my street Kabal and add a really nice flavour. I fear it would be too similar to the green hair/cloth though. I'm gonna try it. Cheers Caspaar | |

Must be a combination of the darker lighting and the contrast on my monitor, but it looks like a very beautifully layered and highlighted bronze on my screen. Any chance of a shot with better lighting to show off those rich browns? I agree with spellcheck on this one for the bronze/verdigris. You really should keep working that ghetto-fabulous street gang look! | |

| Hey, thanks to all of you for the advice, I went for the verdigris bronze and it really added a strange but nice touch to the scheme. Here's the result So, how do you like it? I'm pretty content with them . Cheers Caspaar | |
