| Firstly, I'm not a very competitive player. My group does mostly narrative/campaign games, and the competitive crew usually "dial it back" when playing at our LGS (saving the big guns for their tournaments or whatever).
I've been collecting elfy models for a while thinking I might try WHFB. Umm, I found out I hate RnF with a passion, so that's out. BACK TO 40K! I only played a few games in 6th and it wasn't great fun. I was new to DE and only played <1000 pts ever. Here is my idea for the new list.
Archon w/ Armour of Misery, Agoniser, Blaster, Shadowfield & WWP. 190 9x Incubi in a Raider w/Nightshields and Aethersails. 255
5x Trueborn (2 Lances, 3 rifles) in a Venom w/2x Cannons. 160 5x Trueborn (3 Blasters, 2 Rifles) in a Venom w/2x Cannons. 165
10x Kabalites (1 Cannon) in a Raider w/ Lance, Trophies, Nightshield, Splinter Racks. 195
9x Kabalites (standard) in a Raider w/ Lance, Aethersails, Nightshield, Splinter Racks. 167 Haemonculus w/ Archangel of Pain (my cyanide pill), Liquifier, Scissorhand, WWP. 155
Either 2 squads of 5 Scourges, or 1 with ten (4 to 6 Haywire Blasters in there). ~225
Ravager w/ 3 Lances (Nightshield????) 125.
Somewhere around 1600pts.
I think I have a lot of AT, and probably don't need 2 WWP. Originally I was planning on deep-striking the Incubi and a blob of Wyches into CC.
I'm building most of these models from other kits, and will probably only pick up a few vehicles in order to get the army ready. In 6th, I probably didn't even need to bring more than 5 troops, since everyone died when the vehicle exploded. The only models I don't own are Scourges and the Venoms. My current Kabalites are kit-bashed with Black Ark Corsairs, and my Incubi are Har-Ganeth Executioners with Wildwood Ranger glaives. My Archon is Lokhir Fellheart....

| Don't think you need trophies or the haemocules really. Better off using the points to try and get another warrior squad or something as well, once they get hit they disappear quick!
Scourges work best in squads of 5 with 4 special weapons, either haywire blasters or blasters really. Also, with trueborn in a venom, that unit will be moving so its better to put blasters over lances or if you want a real "poison hose" stick 2 cannons on the trueborn perhaps!
None of what I've said above is especially competitive but it will be more effective and allow for more fun games really! | |

| That's really the name of the game at this point! I changed it quite a bit following thoughts from dakkadakka and here. I think I'm going to go double Archon, use the "poison hose" Trueborn loadout, and two MSU Kabalite Raiders.
Also, I finally figured out the changes to WWP. I still thought I had to deliver to a spot on the field... | |

I keep trying to work in CWE allies (I have 3 Warlocks and a unit of converted Warmachine elves), but I can't seem to add them without feeling like they're tacked on. I know people like the HWB, but I feel like heat lances are more versatile. The basic idea is to Deep Strike the Scourges and WWP HQs/Units, with the gunboats hanging back and then moving in to grab objectives and hose down infantry.
My only issue is fluff, but that's a different subforum... | |

| Wow its been a long time haha! Swap the mandrakes for a venom with a cannon and your bustin' :p
The succubus unit will be nasty but difficult to use I think! Best of luck! | |

I'm not hugely against what you're doing, just be aware of how much extra you're paying here and pay attention to some games to decide for yourself if the value of potential future mobility and a slight toughness boost is worth the cost. - melkorthetonedeaf wrote:

For what you're paying here you could get 3 Venoms w. 5 Warriors and a Blaster - and have points left over. You would do more damage to infantry except within 12", and would also have 3 darklight shots as opposed to 2, albeit with less range. You could even do 2x Venoms and 1x Raider w. 5 Warriors and Blaster, still save points, and still be almost as good at anti-infantry and better at anti-mech. My thoughts. - melkorthetonedeaf wrote:

Fine. I think the list is overall decent. I worry that you're only bringing 2 Troop options, which could hurt you in objective games if your opponent is also CAD. | |
