New player, 1,000 points list

I finally got my codex so I got around to putting an army list together, I am looking to have a good army that is also based around the models I like. Let me know what your opinions are or if you have any suggestions. I am a new player so I can take criticism.

Would it be a stronger list if I dropped the Reavers and upgraded one unit of Kabalites in a Venom into Trueborns? That would leave me with 60 points after the upgrade. I would use the 60 points to give the Trueborns another Blaster and x2 Dark Lances (5th Trueborn will have a Splinter Rifle) as well as an extra Dark Lance for the Ravager which will now have x3 Dark Lances.

That would put me at exactly 1,000 points.

Which would be better? I like the Reavers but I would give it up for a stronger army.

IMO drop the reavers and upgrade to trueborn but give them 4x blasters forget the dark lancers on them.

If I do that, what would I do with the remaining 10 points? Give the Ravager Grisly Trophies or give both Raiders Ehanced Aethersails or something else?

Splinter canon on the RWF?

A third lance on the Ravager also springs to mind.

Frankly, I'd say it's more important for you to have lances on the Ravager than on the Razorwing. Especially at 1000 points.

Where can I find in the codex the point costs on some upgrades such as Shadowfield for the Archon?
