My little Kabal

When i am not trying to put together a list or trying to find something on the internet to fend of painting blues, i am trying to paint my Dark Eldar.

To show how a assembled warrior might look, i put one together with the kind of putty(don´t know it´s English name)  you usually use to stick posters on the wall.
And the base isn´t finished either (still debating whether or not i should paints it NMM like the rest of the miniature or True Metallic the latter would be to make the DE armor seem more alien in comparison.

The picture on the chest is my attempt to paint the same picture as that of my avatar just without the circuits and the background.

Wahey, he's awesome. I love that kind of ancient world copper blue. Choice of colours and NMM skillz are 10/10.
I don't know if I've ever seen NMM and metallic paint on the same model in contrast. But with it being model vs base it might be awesome. I guess you can always change the base if not. Looking forward to seeing it!

The legs usually took a day to paint same with the stomach. The heads more or less 1 maybe 2 heads per day.
The arms depending on my energy i can usually do 1 maybe 1½ sets of arms per day.
And yes this is done by brush.

As for the layers i do the turquoise armor is done like this
1:1 Black and Turquoise
Then with thin layers i blend in pure Turquoise
Then i do a 1:1 Turquoise, Ice Yellow and re blend with Turquoise
After that it´s 1:3 Turquoise, Ice Yellow and reblend with the previous layer
Then i take a small amount of the 1:3 Turquoise and put 3 parts dead white in it.
After that pure dead white and on the extreme edges golden artist Color titanium White.

As for the shadows between the plates and in the sides first it gets a Purple wash and once dry a black wash.
Sometimes i just correct with the base color of 1:1 Black and Turqouise.

Oh man I would go mad spending that long on a single model, but clearly your results are worth the effort!

This here is nothing. In fantasy i have a dwarf army, i bought a little time before the previous edition came out, painted and repainted it some.
It more or less playable by now..just i still would like to redo the bases at some point and finish the last 10 of the Ironbreakers.

But i realize that if i keep going like this, i will never get to play any game.
So that is why i will try and magnetize all the miniatures in my army (once i get an actual working armylist put together so far my venomspam list isn´t looking so good) and partially build the transports.
And i will paint them as i go along that way i will get experience in playing while at the same time ending up with an army, i can say i have painted to the best of my abilities.

Ahh the good old days where models at best took 2 maybe 4 days....this one took nearly two weeks to do.
It was also my first try on magnetics and the result was a little..so so.






Also tried to put it behind a background...as you can see my ipad wasn´t too happy with that decision.

This looks amazing! I'll be following this with MUCH interest!

Not the best pictures and once i am done with my entire Eldar Dark Eldar army i will try and get some better pictures of it.

My Venom

That's looking good! Very good indeed! And you plan on only playing with painted miniatures?

If i did so i would never get any playing done what so ever.
So i will do another venom and an Eldar Hemlock Wraithfighter simply because i can´t magnetize it, Grotz´s, Wracks, Raiders, HQs Wraithknight, Eldar Jetbikes will all get magnitized and i will paint them as i go along.
I just hope my Dark Eldar and Eldar units won´t become completely useless before i finish with painting them, or that they Age of Sigmar the whole 40k.
Should that happen i will rage quite and go over to Warmachines or some other game instead where i won´t have to buy a whole new army with every update.
