I have already tried this list vs Sisters of Battle, and it ended victorious! He gave up in my round 4 shooting. I rolled 1 on the deployment/start and my friend rolled 1 aswell so I started the game lol. I had the idea to get one more Raider later, currently this list is with models I own! The scourges where awesome anyway! /Jim

| Scourges are good, and probably one of the best things point for point we have, until you fight GKs... I dont think thats a reason not to take them, but it has to factor in if you know you are running a high risk of playing them.
But I digress... what are you using baron with??? The scourges??? thats a weird choice, especially since he is made for combat.

| Well where I am playing we are about 3 hardcore players and one of them is GK. And I know they are crazy. Well if you don't risk anything you cant really win anything? Or something.. Weird? I don't think so. First off he gives +1 on starting the game. And second yes he is with the scourges. I jump forward, hiding behind a cover and try shooting and something, next turn I walk in to cover with the baron as well. He has stealth and if i am not totally wrong he improves the cover save. That means my scourges are more protected from ranged attacks, plus he defends them somewhat in CC. Sure you can get them killed by GKs guns. But most of them are 24" just as the hay wire blaster, so just try not to stay to close with all their units. I am not saying it is easy but you can minimize some of the fire they will take. (Range, cover etc). Sure they have dakka dreads and razorbacks that might have range. Well if they use them on the scourges that means something else is alive and have a chance to counter somewhere else? Always find good in bad /Jim | |

| I like this list quite a bit. The only thing I am not too keen on are the warrior squads. I've tried these and just don't like them. The single blaster shot is too unreliable and the squad itself is rather fragile. Personally I'd change them into haywire wyches in raiders, either 2 larger or 3 smaller units depending on how the points work out. I've found these units to be much more effective than the warriors. HG are great AT weapons and when in a larger group wyches can just about hold up anything in combat. I'd probably forget about the flickerfield on these raiders as basically moving fast to get into assault range gives you a 4+ cover save anyway.
The Baron for the points is a steal, although I wouldn't be relying on him to save anybodies a$$ in combat, he's just not that good at it. He can take a bit of punishment but can't dish it out to well.

| Yeah I know, I want bigger units but I can't really come up with anything good. Btw the raiders are warriors and wyches are in venoms The baron isn't that great but to be able to increase the chance of me starting makes him a valid choice for me. My last game I used him as extra wounds when ranged attacks came and provided an 3+ coversave. It saved some of my scourges a shooting =) But I might try one more wych unit! edit: HQ Baron ELITE 4 Trueblasters, Venom, Splinter Cannon 4 Trueblasters, Venom, Splinter Cannon 4 Trueblasters, Venom, Splinter Cannon TROOPS 5 Warriors, Blasters, Raider, Flicker Field 5 Warriors, Blasters, Raider, Flicker Field 5 Wyches, Haywire Grenades, Venom, Splinter Cannon 5 Wyches, Haywire Grenades, Venom, Splinter Cannon 5 Wyches, Haywire Grenades, Venom, Splinter Cannon Fast 5 Scourge, 2 Haywire Blasters HEAVY Ravager, Flicker Field Ravager, Flicker Field Ravager, Flicker Field SUMMARY: 1749 Points 21 Kill Points 49 Models (11 Vehicles) 25 Lances 2 Haywire Blasters 12 Splinter Cannons = Heavy 72 15 Haywire Grenades +1 Roll Off, START | |
