| With only 4 ground units you won't be able to win an objective based game. Funny list though. | |

| There will be nothing on the ground after five turns. Seriously - nine flyers! Even Tau needs to be wary. | |

| He actually has 8 total ground units. Squads can jump out of the venoms, so he could do just fine in obj. based games. Granted very tough time but its doable lol. | |

| I have no ObSec though. remeber too that I have 'hunt from the shadows' first turn so I'm a bit more survivable too. I just need to get to turn two, lol. | |

| Thankfully though, with all those flyers you can blast their ObSec stuff to bits and at least contest. In the Maelstrom games where you need to control objectives to gain cards, good deployment/objective placement can do wonders. Like I said before, you're not totally up a creek . | |

| That is my hope. It is unfortunate that they made void ravens AV10 and took away aerial assault. That said it is the best we have. | |

| The one thing I've found with the loss of aerial assault that can be slightly advantageous is that you can put a ravager in decent cover or behind a building without having to worry too much about a losing a full BS lance shot. AV 10 on the bomber is annoying but with your list and the huge amount of aerial target saturation won't be that big of a deal for ya | |

| Here's a thought though. to get Obsec you can just run a CAD Run 3 RZWF Run the Crimson Death Formation and still get the two voidweavers I guess. I would probably want a comms relay in mine but thats just me. I would also drop the Splinter Cannons on the RZWF, I have never really been able to utilize them to be honest. Anything that you can shoot in the air has either a better armor save or it will jink because it doesn't need to shoot. that's 60 points you can makeup and get another venom or something. I wouldn't run the Voidraven bombers I would put those points elsewhere. | |

| I have no doubts that a Crimson Death formation would work. I just want a pure DE list though. I don't mind the splinter fire on the Razorwings, TBH. Situational - yes. But if I need to remove multiple ground targets they help with the missiles.
I've been crafting lists lately trying to use single CAD where possible - maybe CAD and one formation, no LoWs, no OP units et all and still remain competitive. This is just one more example to go with my other lists. I'm over using broken combos and garg creatures and super heavies.

| With old eldar I played around with (using proxies) a 6 Razorwing, 3 Crimson Hunter dual CAD list (With an Autarch, 5 jetbike units, and a bunker with comms). It was fun and certainly hit hard, but its one pretty serious weakness was that it had nothing to deal with things with decent cover saves, and since most of your army is flying most stuff doesn't care about jinking/going to ground anyway.
I'd prob drop the blasters on the warriors (I think you've got enough lances on the fliers), drop one warrior squad, and take 2x2medusae in venoms as your HQ instead. It's not much, but it adds something your army doesn't otherwise have. Also you've got no characters right now so you'll miss out on a warlord trait.

| Thanks Bugs - good idea - I lose virtually nothing (a few blasters) and gain four templates on the ground and some poisoned attacks. That's why you win tournaments It is easy to dismiss that this detachment has no ObSec. So really warriors or no better than any other unit in a venom. As for the characters - you know my warlord traits rarely win me games but it is easy to add in a character. | |
