| To make a long story short, I've decided to do a log about my DE army to keep my motivated with painting. I acquired a few models off hand and away I went. Lets see what we can do from here. So here is what screamed to be painted first: Still trying to figure out how to blend on that banner.... And finally a trueborn conversion made from some discarded bits and broken incubi. Not too shabby if I do say so myself! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! --Admiral | |

| Hey looking pretty sweet. Overall I like your trueborn, I just feel that the splinter rifle/ Blaster combo looks a bit awkward. I think its maybe a bit top heavy looking perhaps a shorter barrel would balance it a bit? I'm thinking maybe right back to the start of the slotted part of the barrel (I do like the way you have made it so that the barrel slot runs in to the slot on the blaster). That said its your show dude so if you like it go with it. | |

| These make me feel slightly nostalgic as they look a lot like my first DE! Your highlights are very neat and thin, but I can't help feeling they need another, brighter layer to make them pop a little more. The helmet of the last warrior to the left looks like you've done this and it makes a big difference IMO but if you prefer them dark then go for it Also the bases need something to seal the deal, even some texture paint with a drybrush would go a long way. Overall though, a good start, keep it up! | |

| Thanks guys! I diffidently agree with you Punk, I was looking at him just a moment ago and he needs a little bit of help. I was thinking that or maybe replacing it with a shredder and cutting off the end of the shredder gun? Ill work at it and put up what I come up with a little. I never really even considered another layer, but it sounds good ill paint one or two up and see what it looks like. As for the the bases, I just got some stirland mud and some of the static grass which i figure will look nice together. I appreciate all the feedback it really helps decide what I need to do next. --Admiral | |

| So here we go! I took those suggestions to heart and rather like how it turned out on my existing models. I like the stirland mud along with the static grass and the default colors and such actually look pretty nice to me. Just gotta clean up the edges around the bases and they are done. As you can see in the back, I gave in and picked up a box of scourges. I believe I have figured out how to make a few more haywire blasters so that'll be exciting. The next step is to get the rest of my kabalite warriors done and then I can move on to the quite lovely scourges. Gives me a bit of incentive eh? --Admiral | |

| Nice, that has really helped, they look loads better! Also, that was a pretty quick response to the feedback, keep this up and the army will be finished in no time | |

| First squad finally done! Bit tedious at about and hour and a half per model but I am getting faster. Now we play around with the archon for a bit and maybe the razorwing. Oh and I did this trueborn. Probably need to greenstuff the few cracks and such but not actually that much more. --Admiral | |

| It's been a little bit but I have actually done some painting, believe it or not! I've worked on the scourges, archon, and finished out the first Kabalite squad. As for some pictures.... Really only worked on the back of the cloak. Might as well make it look pretty if I am going to be staring at it a lot! I originally had the armor in a light green shade but it ended up being reverted back to the red that I use on the rest of the army. Tell me what you think, there is something just not quite right but I am not sure what it is. And a group shot. It makes my evil heart swell with pride to seem them all lined up And finally two deathwing knights my brother had me paint up (I get some delicious dark eldar goodies after I finish the squad...I think I win in the end) --Admiral | |

| The scourge looks really good. The only thing I can see that might be making you feel that it looks off is the thigh armor being red.
But all your stuff so far looks real nice. | |

| Its been a little bit but I have managed to get a few things done. I've done a bit of work on a variety of things but as ever the painting ADD has me moving all over the place. I think this looks a bit better than the other scourge, it must have been the thigh armor after all thanks surgeon Finally some work on the venom Some more of my trial work in wet blending, and I think I am starting to get it Now to figure out a nice skin tone for the succubus.... --Admiral | |

| I have been doing stuff, I promise! I started on the few coven things i have acquired and finished a squad of wracks; A talos; And a converted succubus, who im not very happy with... I am lucky I have a bunch of left over bits to make another succubus so I might give the whole process another go sometime this week. In the mean time, the little talos who could looks out the window wistfully for his long lost brother and master... --Admiral | |

| I rather like the flayed look though it can look strange at times. I'm not all that good at painting skin tones so I went with that look cause its easier . --Admiral | |
