| Hey all, this is my first post on the forums so be gentle.
Recently I played in my local tournament and I was asked by my opponet what the arch of fire on my Raider's Desintegrator Cannon is.
I had no idea what to answer and we had to ask the refs for clarifications. The question basically boiled down to whether the weapons on DE vehicles are mounted and fixed or can they turn and if yes, how many degrees?
The ref's answered that if there is no mention of that in the codex than the weapons are fixed by default (which implies they can shoot only forward).
Is that the case or have we misinterpreted anything?

| There's no mention in any of the Codexes, and barely anything in the rulebook. Generally, its what is possible on the model. For a Raider and Venom, I believe they have a little space for movement side to side, so would have a 90* arc in the front. For a Ravager, the front gun is 90* in the front, and the side guns can swivel 180* to their respective sides. | |

| It's very debateable, and has been discussed a lot.
Personally I'd say the front gun on the raider and ravager has at least a 180 degree fire arc, as the gun is only impeded by the rail to either side (yes, you can't rotate it that for if the crew member is attached, but clearly the gun can go that far and the crew member would move to allow the full traverse.
As the ravager guns on the side can rotate, they're not limited to 180 degrees, but their actual line of sight (since you measure LoS with vehicles from the gun).
venom underslung gun i treat as hull mounted, with the top gun being a turret with 360 degrees, again full rotation simply requires the crew member to move.

| Forward guns have a little greater than 180 arc. I've snapped a gunner off in the middle of a tournament once to prove it to a guy.
Venom bottom gun is fixed. Venom top gun is 360.
Ravager side guns can require a little monkey puzzling, but can swivel 360 degrees. (Personally I would only fire a gun across the deck in a competitive event, and even then I'd be leery about it.)

| One would think that such a thing should not be left without a clear rule... I see this being an issue in the future tournaments. *Muttley sounds* | |

| I would say the same thing for the the prow guns arch would be 45 in the vertical and 180 in the horizontal. The ravagers port and starboard guns would be 45 the vertical and slightly more than 180 in the horizontal. You can get down to model height and see what your LOS is past the prow gun is. Firing at the back your limited by our hull.
I play my venoms differently tho. The top mount is on a pintle mount similar to the prow gun of the ravager and raider. So I play that one at 180. 360 seems rediculus since the the model manning the gun would be on top of the canopy of the pilot to fire backwards and then firing thru any crew on the deck. So 180 for the top.
Venom bottom mount is not pintle mounted. Magnatizing doent count. So therefore I play my venoms bottom cannon as a 45 arc. To me it more akin to old wing mounted machine guns in ww2. They could just shoot front. But the bombers had guys manning weapons that had much greater arcs of fire.

| I agree completely with Psylynt. Those are my thoughts on it as well. | |
