For the longest time getting custom waterslide decals for your own personal hobby projects was a tedious, confusing chore. Designing the artwork, making sure the colors were accurate, pricing decal printing by colors, minimum orders of sheets, etc. etc. But you no longer need to worry about that hassle.

Custom Decals are as simple as 1,2,3!

Getting custom one-off decal designs manufactured in white toner is quickly becoming impossible since the cessation of ALPS printer ink and tech support in May of 2015. Now there are only 2 types of laser printers in the world that can print one-off single sheets of decals in white toner and Fallout Hobbies intends to acquire one of those models.




The process will be easy.

Step 1.
Send Fallout Hobbies a hand drawn sketch, image from the internet or your vector/ raster artwork of the decals you want created. We accept all file formats and can work with pretty much anything. 

Step 2.
Fallout Hobbies will redraw the supplied artwork in vector format for ultra crisp printing. The customer will get an opportunity to proof the decal design before moving onto step 3.

Step 3.
Fallout hobbies will gang up multiples of your artwork in various sizes shapes on sheet or to specific sizes as indicated by the customer. Then we’ll print that sheet out for a flat rate of $35 and then an additional $15 for each additional sheet ordered. 

Sheets are 5.5” x 8.5” with transparent backing. Larger size sheets can be special ordered. Sheets can be printed in white or black toner as well as full color. 

A full tabletop army can most likely be completed with just one sheet, but it never hurts to order extra sheets for the future.


We will have pre-designed decal sheets as well as the custom offerings.

What makes Fallout Hobbies superior to producing decals at home?

There are several reasons honestly, aside from the convenience and quality control measures in place, the most defining difference is “Underprinting”


What is underprinting?
It’s simple really. It’s what professional decal companies can do what home users cannot.

A typical home laser or inkjet printer uses transparent ink and prints on light colored surfaces, such as white paper. When you print transparent colored ink on home use decal paper, the subsequent decal is transparent as well. Meaning it looks great on light surfaces, but hardly vidible on dark surfaces.

Fallout Hobbies uses underprinting which allows us to first print an opaque layer of white ink, then a subsequent layer of colors on top of it. This means when the decal is applied to a dark color surface it is still vibrant and striking. 





Underprinting will be standard on all of out pre-designed decal sheets as well as all custom designed sheets for customers. 

Now you can get decals that are just expertly manufactured and detailed as any GW or Forgeword sheet but purely unique and customized for your army. Let your imaginations run wild, there is no limit to the amount of colors on your decals!

This is a sheet for “Evil Machine Cultists”




All artwork and symbology on here is 100% designed by me without any IP infringement, but it’s easy to image in which army you could use this sheet for.

The sheet would be produced in opaque red, black and white ink on transparent decals paper and would retail for $15USD once the store is live. But before that will be available to all Kickstarter backers as one of their pre-designed decal selections.

This is awesome cause now we can start working on the stretch goal of airbrush stencils. Initially we were thinking metal stencils, but after a great conversation with Mr. Justin from Secret Weapon Miniatures, we are going to look into self-adhesive vinyl stencil sheets. Which would be cheaper than metal and would open up the option for custom cut vinyl stencils just as we’ll be offering custom decals! How awesome would that be? More on that aspect next week.

Fallout Hobbies is now producing pre-designed and custom designed vinyl airbrush stencils
Initially we were thinking metal stencils, but after a great conversation with Mr. Justin from Secret Weapon Miniatures, we opted to produce self-adhesive vinyl stencil sheets. We will be offering Pre-designed sheets as well as an option for custom designed sheets at the same prices as the decal sheets. Each vinyl sheet is 8” x 10” produced on a low-tack self-adhesive black vinyl. It won’t rip the paint off underneath and can be reused several times.

All current backers can elect to swap a pre-designed decal sheet for a pre-designed vinyl stencil, or a custom designed decal sheet for a custom designed vinyl stencil.
