I'm going to be playing Zone Mortalis for the first time in a couple of weeks ( Zone Mortalis info ), and here's the first draft of my list. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Zone Mortalis is a FW designed iteration of 40k. Basically it's designed to portray an indoor battle. In this case our local club has been playing a campaign this year where the three sides (imperial, chaos, xenos) have been battling over a map. Some of the nodes on the map are things like Lab, Mines, Warehouse, etc. This event is taking place inside those spots. The boards are essentially made up of corridors, rooms, and lots and lots of doors which can be opened or closed, even locked, and it takes up part of your movement phase to open or close them, and if they're locked and you want to force them you have to spend your attack/s to do so. Like attacking buildings, essentially. There are a few special rules, such as impassable terrain like walls is literally impassable (so Reavers can't go over), since it's indoors and there is a theoretical ceiling there, there is no Deep Striking (though WWPs are still fair play), anything that turboboosts treats everything, even open space, as difficult, models need to be able to physically pass through doorways in order to go through (it's being ruled that 40mm bases and under can pass, over 40 cannot, and flyers are not allowed at all), you can fire overwatch at full BS if you pass an initiative test, and no dedicated transports are allowed. I'm really looking forward to this; Zone Mortalis seems really cool. If you're unfamiliar with it, you should click the link up top and check it out. I think that CC is going to be crucial, since it's going to be pretty close quarters and the nature of twisty hallways and doors is going to mean tons of LOS blocking. And my ability to run WWPs is going to be a fantastic, hella sneaky trick that I plan on fully exploiting. So anyway, on to the list:
HQ (260 points):
Haemonculus (Flesh Gauntlet, Liquifier, WWP)
Succubus (Archite Glaive, WWP)
Elites (230 points):
Grotesques x3 (3x Liquifiers, Aberration)
Incubi x3 (Klaivex)
Fast Attack (272 points):
2x squads of Reavers x6 (Arena Champ, 2x Cluster Caltrops)
Troops (235 points):
Warriors x10 (Sybarite, SC)
2x squads of Wyches x5 (Shardnet & Impaler, Hekatrix)
Succubus goes with the Incubi, Haemy goes with the Grotesques. Incubi WWP in somewhere that they won't be vulnerable, but where they'll be able to get into cc the next turn. Grotesques either do the same or pop in and throw liquid pain all over someone's face and get ready to assault the next turn as well. I don't anticipate there being any units with an armor value, but in case there are I have my Reavers' HoW to deal with it. I really love the Reavers for this mission (well, I love Reavers all day long, but I especially love them here) as I can turbo boost around in the hallways and get set up for assaults. If I put one team on either side of the enemy unit they will auto die if I can get them to break. Delicious.
So what do you think?
