| I've been searching to no avail to find some alternates to the Scourge wings. Don't get me wrong, I love them, they're the best around but I want a Scourge heavy army and was looking to add some variety to the models by adding wings that are just as good (if possible).
I'll say right off that the old school Scourge wings and any of the Swooping Hawk wings are right out. They're too small by far and look like it's the jump pack doing the work while the "wings" are there for aesthetics only (and loko bad at that). I want wings that look like they're doing the flying - larger and dynamic. I haven't found anything that matches this criteria yet outside of monstrous creature sized bits.

| I don't have them, but have heard of people using Gargoyle wings as alternates. That would give you 3 different types of wings, all looking different. | |

| Tyranid Gargoyle wings.
Vampire Count Vargheist wings.
Bretonnia Pegasus wings.
Dare I say Eternal Guard wings?

| Ah Gargoyle wings are nice and look to be similar in size to the Scourge standard wings. The Vargheist wings just don't look right and the pegasus wings look too big for the skinny DE models. I dunno what those Eternal guard wings are, couldn't find those.
I now need some alternate bodies to use for my guys. I was thinking of converting Wyches or Eldar Banshee's as they have very dynamic poses.

They're ok looking (better than Swooping Hawks) but they lack any motion. They're static jump pack ornamentation rather tan true wings. What I think I'm gonna do is use Wych bodies (I got a bunch of them and need to put them to use) with Gargoyle wings (a kit with 10 wings can be picked up for less than two Scourge kits). I was originally thinking of throwing the Scourge helmets on them but now I'm looking at the Hellion heads with the fanged face masks, they might add to the wicked bondage look of the Wych armour better than the helmets. This is for a project to put together a Scourge/Swooping Hawk focussed army (at least the first wave of the army). To go with the wicked look of the Wych Scourges I plan to use the actual Scourge bodies, along with the feathered wings, for the Swooping Hawk units. This way they look more flight ready than the Scourges (appropriate due to their skyflight rules) and the feathers distinguish them from the bat winged Scourges.

| They look like the new Age of Sigmar range? They're nice actually but not for this project. If I had Blood Angels or straight Craftworlders I'd probably use them as replacements. | |
