| Thor is right on. BTW on the terrain issue... 25% is extremely light. You should have at least a few pieces of line-of-sight blocking terrain. I myself bring my a tables worth of terrain to my local store just because 1: I don't want to play with junk terrain, 2: I want to play a tactical game where you have to move around and gain access to fire lanes. Good terrain, especially LOS blocking terrain is imperative for Dark Eldar. If your opponents have an issue with it, just say you want to do the alternating terrain placement as GW outlines in the main book. | |

Yeah id agree bikes shouldn't be the solid centre of your army. But if you throw something solid at your enemy like a grotesquerie or DA or CC or a talos wing or even a ton of skimmers, MSU reavers work a treat! I don't get why people consider reavers "risky" or "hard to use". 3+ units of 3-6 with CC fly around, hide, score OBJ, monster small units (which are usually backfeild obj holders), gang up on larger units and wreck vehicles with an 10-11 AV facing. I played MSU reavers once and was impressed with the damage they could inflict and more importantly the HUGE amount of obj points they grabbed and never looked back! My regular opponents despise them (which is always a good sign) and target them whenever they can and still they bring home the bacon. Even if I have to reserve them to avoid mass ignore LOS and ignore cover.

| With regard to Grotesques, I seem to be the only person who doesn't regard them as solid. | |

I was going to make a joke that they're definitely solid - as in a solid chunk of haemonculi knitting, but it sounded better in my head...

I feel the same way about Reavers.

| I can't speak for grotesques, but reavers aren't solid. It's a high risk high reward type unit; they can die turn one or win you the game, sometimes even both.
I have yet to bring an army without them.
