That seems like an incredible waste. I do sometimes, and sometimes I don't. To call it a waste is an oversimplification, sometimes it's the right move - it depends on what your opponent has and what you need to accomplish. If he has an IG blob squad packed closely together and is otherwise minimized meched units, you better believe that blob is about to eat 4 missiles. If he is a bunch of MSU 5 mans, then I will often drop 1-2 missiles and some lances/s.rifle or something. If he has FMCs or Knights then, sometimes, I come in blazing with lances and s.rifle and don't fire even a single missile. It all depends, and it's not a waste to fire 4 missiles unless you're firing at a poor target for 4 missiles, but it has nothing to do with a 4 missile shot being inherently bad.

| I guess I should have said: are people really seeing a consistent need to blow four missiles at once? I virtually never have a game where that would be a good idea. | |

| That's a thought, I probably pop all 4 about 50% of the time though, but then again, I don't run a lot of Venoms so if I have a fresh squad of 8-10 bodies often it is still worth it to me because I have lances to work elsewhere.
But I will certainly second you on the basic message that you shouldn't always presume that dropping 4 plates is the best initial option with Razorwing upon arrival.

| Interesting Thor, I've cut back on my venom count too and have rarely missed them. My usual count is now 3 as opposed to 5-6 but I've dropped to zero recently a few times for some unorthodox lists. | |

| As I sit and think about it, I don't think I see any true hordes in my local meta. | |

| I do and there venoms absolutely rock. That said I've come to love the disi cannons and much higher durability of raiders not to mention having backups for grots and such. | |

| In my meta there is a vast spam of "ignore cover", so i truly appreciate the INV 5+ of venoms. And, they drop out a lot of dakka.
Noticeably a lot of. I however love raiders 'cuz, you know, prow.

| Ya if you see a lot of tau or tomb blades and such then the venom becomes equal in terms of durability (still dies to 3 glances), better vs explodes. | |

| My Razorwing is Disintegrator Cannon equipped and I Blu Tack the missile loadout on so I can change it game to game. Cheaper than magnets!
Anyway... Facing Dark Angels sitting in a gun line and generally really annoying my Archon by brassing up lots of his units, then the Razor flew in and... no more gun line. The Disintegrators are rightly feared by marines and I got lucky with a few Splinter Cannon shots too. I flippin' love the model and it's effective too...

| Yes Disintegrator is devestating, I sorta regret having the splinter cannon instead of twin linked though, since it always moves it always uses the lowest value of it, but still the disintegrators are still the primary killers on the razor. | |

| *sitting with rules open on lap*
All vehicles have the Relentless special rule, so they can fire Heavy, Salvo or Ordnance weapons as though they were stationary even if they moved in the previous Movement phase.
So.. the full 6 shots from the Splinter cannon are available...
Zooming and shooting;
"Flyers have sophisticated targeting systems designed to work at the fastest speeds. Zooming flyers (18"-36" movement) can fire up to four of their weapons using their full Ballistic Skill if they have moved at either Combat Speed or Cruising Speed that turn"
