That response is what I expect for the purpose of the rule against one target and I don't think having the buffmander's bonuses against a single unit are going to be much stronger than just duplicating those buffs through markerlights anyway. What I'm more interested to hear is if there will be a response about target locking off of the target and still having the buffs. I suspect that will not be the ruling in most areas and I think that's the fair call to make. If Tau armies do get that benefit though, it will just make them stronger against some armies but weaker to others. Just takes a new tactical approach and changes the paper, rock, scissors dynamic a bit.

What would you do to deal with them?

If the buffs only apply against one target then MSU would still be our best bet.

Yup, MSU if the buffs only apply against one target and they continue to equip early warning overrides. If they switch to target locks to hit multiple targets I would null deploy more and hit them coming out of reserves so their firepower is drastically reduced before they get a chance to shoot anything.

I too plan on playing an msu, reserves rush against new tau.

Hopefully they are rocking more target locks now than early warning overrides. Even if there is a few EWO units on the table I can try to hide from them and shoot the ever-loving crap out of a flank.

Applying pressure with tough or fast threats all up in their fishy faces seems like a good idea too.

And as always it doesn't matter if your taking a pounding as long as you are scoring objs!
