| Get obliterated by interceptor which is available to every suit for 5 points (yes, the sormsurge can have it too).
The thing you can actually do: Pick Maelstrom, play to your objectives and pray that you accumulate VP faster than you lose units.

| New 2 times Old: I dont know... probably 25% of my overall games (which is 4 - 12 a month) as I play against Eldar, Necrons, Tau, Imperial Guard and White Scars most of the time but the Necron guy doesn't have much time to play.
So what is your point again?

The thing you can actually do: Pick Maelstrom, play to your objectives and pray that you accumulate VP faster than you lose units. That's a tradeoff though, they either buy target locks to split fire all their units and take advantage of shared rules or they get EWO for interceptor. Those broadsides, crisis suits, fire warriors, breachers, drones, and riptides can't do both. Whichever they have, you play to counter.

The stormsurge can fire every weapon at different targets anyways and can basically target the whole table... or at least evrything that DS in a 36" bubble around him. And he is only 360 points. The Heavy Retribution Cadre contains 2 of them which is basically enough to stop any deepstrike from doing damage. Hell they even obliterate Marines coming out of their drop pods. So yes, they have to decide which system but they will probably go with EWO on their stormsurges (they can have 3 systems anyways) and sprinkle the rest with targel locks or EWO. Also Bubblewrapping does still exist.

| Let them have EWO all they want, they're BS 3 and unlikely to crack open more than a single vehicle without markerlight or commander support to give them ignore cover and boost their number of hits. Plus, they're going to come to 400ish points each with upgrades. Let's see how they do at stopping a deepstriking force.
Average number of glancing or penetrating hits against a raider with night shields. SMS: 1 per turn Cluster Rocket System: 7/9 per turn Pulse Driver: 1/3 per turn Each Destroyer Missile: 5/36 per turn (or 5/9 for all 4 fired)
All firepower combined doesn't even average 3 hullpoints from blowing everything on interceptor and now he can't shoot next turn. If he does kill the raider itself, he's not going to do anything to the passengers which are what he actually needed to stop. Deepstriking will work just fine if that's the deep strike protection you expect. Marines may have to disembark from their vehicles, but we hide in ours when we arrive.
