Thanks a lot. I feel guilty for not having something inspiring and awesome to show every new week though. The Windriders are almost done, but they look nothing to write home about. Progress on the Warriors has been stagnating for the last three weeks, and those Cold Ones are a nightmare to debur. Maybe it's a miscast, but the casting fins on them are so thick, I basically have to remodel the surrounding areas. Scaly skin areas, that is. That aside, I got two Autarchs almost ready, just not their weapons. Those are amongst the things I ordered yesterday. My plans for the comming week (aside from models that aren't really converted) include a finishing touch on the Medusae, a new Spiritseer, and maybe another Hekatrix, just to break the monotony.

[WIP] Haemonculix Haruja the Flawless, Ktyon's Firstborn, Dark Artisan, Mistress of Regeneration - Coven of the Disected Mind
Her head, arms and two of her hands are magnetized. Here she is equipped with a Liquifier and a Scissor Hand. The helmet can be used to represent the Helm of Spite. The small creature next to her is what I call an Aesculos Symbiote Engine, a miniature Cronos of sorts. It can serve as a Nightmare Doll or any sort of marker. [Note:] A dual rack of Cronos antennae is supposed to be added in the Scourge back's wing slots. But I'm not really statisfied with the armored chest, so I might actually take her appart again.
I'm in love with your Symbiote Engine! Such a nice idea, and looks equal parts ponderous, mysterious and disturbing. The little rods on its head are a brilliant addition. As for the Haemonculus herself, she's in a very dynamic pose and looks the part. She also kind of looks like a xenomorph with the helmet, spine and tail, which is pretty rad.

Thank you. I designed her after a prehistoric creature named Hallucigenia... which, as it turned out, didn't actually look like that. Oh well. I want my Coven characters, engines and transports to give off a kind Cambrian/deep-sea vibe; on the line between nature and nightmare.

| I wasn't feeling well for most of this week, so the only thing I could get sort-of done is this Spiritseer: He is a High "Aelf" (no, I will never get over that) Sorcerer with the Hemlock Wraithfighter pilot's helmet. The orb-topped wand and the ghostly mist he is floating on should distinguish him more from the Warlocks. Him aside, I spent most of my time out of bed (and even some in, though I won't recommend that) preparing a Crimson Hunter for priming. Next week, the final order for my Eldar allies should arrive, and then I'll show you one, maybe even two Exarch conversions. | |

No worries, it still looks rocking! - Rokuro wrote:

They are still not going to look very different from "normal" Coven units though: A few unconventional Talos builds, vehicles with tentacles, and heavily modified characters, two of which I have already shown in a WIP-state. Maybe I would do something crazy with Grotesques - if GW releases a plastic kit for them. I'm currently busy with models for my army list, and that does sadly not include Coven units so far. But I'll make sure to fit a few into the next 1000 points.

| Another week without results, and here is why: I already ordered a replacement for the Fusion Blaster. Plastic Autarchs should be in stock at the store. Further, I decided to spare us all further disappointment and not announce any conversions in advance anymore. | |

| In my frustration, I forgot to post these last week. I need a suitable left arm for the jump Autarch, which I will get next Monday, and a specific piece of terrain for his base, which I'm still searching for. The winged Autarch is one of those models that can't be painted properly after you glue them together. You'll get to see the complete model, along with other painted ones, in a new thread in the project logs section, once I have enough to show for it. By the way; that miscast feather seems to be a common issue. I have noticed it on other Autarch models at the store. So I highly recommend to always check the back of the blister before buying, and to report any miscasts you may find to the staff. It'll save you and others a lot of frustration. Autarchs aside, I also prepared a head swap for Shemia. Maybe I'll change the top of her staff again too. Teclis's seems a good choice to me. What do you think? | |

| Finally got him finished: Rodathu Shadowstrike, Autarch of Gyal-Akhur - pretending to be a Vindicare Assassin I replaced the miscast Fusion Blaster with one from the Storm Guardians set. It's a bit smaller, but considering it's mostly used as a sidearm and he is holding it like a pistol, that actually makes it look more appropriate. The Longrifle is Illic's, attacked to a Storm Guardian sword arm. The Reaper Launcher is attached to Illic's right forearm and then another Storm Guardian sword arm, so my Autarch will always have that glove on his left hand. The wall is from an old Citadel ruins set. I picked it for not looking explicitely like Imperial architecture.

| Introducing my newest character: Kereya Twiceslayer, Sole Archite of the True BladeWhile Wych Cults are normaly lead by three Succubi, only one from the True Blade was fortunate enough to have left Commorragh in time to escape Vect's wrath. So far, none of her Hekatarii have claimed the two vacated titels, but it's only a matter of time... I'll play her as Lelith Hesperax with Impaler. The power trident represents her ability to ignore armor saves, the grenade launcher her BS 9 Plasma Grenades. Never underestimate Lelith's grenades! Thinking about it though, this grenade launcher looks a bit too weighty. I'll see if I can build a lighter version... I also built these creatures out of spare heads from my "Talosaur" conversions. I innitially wanted to use them as Clawed Fiends, but they sadly turned out too small for that. - Space Socialist wrote:

Partially. The heads, bodies and tails are those of the normal Finecast Sslyth. But the arms are from Scourges, Dark "Aelf" Corsairs and Black Guard/Executioners.

| Since I ran into some issues with her spider body, I began working on a pre-spider version of Aranya. The torso is magnetized, so I will be able to swap between her forms. But my main project this week wasn't a Dark Eldar for once. This is meant to be a statue, based on my old "Dwarf Marines", for a project at my local store. Not sure if I can finish it in time though... | |
