| So i get that Hive Fleets are named after ancient fictional monsters, from a y40000k perspective that would qualify Metroids too, no? Alright this is what i have: (Start Collecting!!! + a Trygon) And this will be the pattern i want to go for. The translucent parts will be tricky, i'll try just black with some pinkish blood vessels in it.

| Looks good to me, mate. Honestly, any more effort put into guants would be unrealistic for general tabletop purposes, and you'd be painting guants for months on end!! | |

| You're right. 6 point units lol. Next i'll probably start painting my own Hive Tyrant, i hope it will look as good as yours, love the smooth transitions on your wings, may i ask how you achieved those? | |

| Airbrush. If you don't have an airbrush you could do it the way strikingscorpion82 does his (drybrushed) I can find a link if you are interested in the drybrush video he did | |

| Ambitious to do the translucent parts, for sure. After a bit of practise though, I'm certain you'll be fine. So far, I think it looks pretty good, but as nexz mentioned, so much effort into a 6pt model! By the way @nexz, if your offer is still going to find that link, I'll take you up on it. If its somewhere here on The Dark City, even just a thread name and/or date would be enough. | |

| good good. i like the colour choices If i could offer a suggestion, i'd not go so stark wiggly lines. i'd start with a tone lighter for your squigglies, and go in with your light colour and hit the corners of the wiggles. then hit the lot with a blue wash. then corners again. this is just for your big models. | |

| Thank you! I went: Stegadon scale green-base Sotek green-layer temple guard blue-layer blue horror-edge for the points and corners of the wiggles coelia greenshade.
So if i understand you right i could go stegadon sotek temple guard -corners coelia temple guard corners again?
P.S. Got any idea how to reduce the colour saturation? the carapaces on the metroid pics seem less colourful, maybe nuln oil instead of coelia? | |

| I would probably use drakkenhoff nightshade (spelling?) simply because you want the overall colour to be more blue than green.
What i'd suggest is taking a termagant that you've painted in the usual way (because he's got a large back plate) then shade him with the nightshade wash to trial?

| I'll definetily leave him as he is, (purity sealed already) except maybe ardcoating the carapace. Anyway i'll try around on the other 5 Goyles, with drakenhof nightshade and also with some russ/fenrisian grey for a start as i want less colour, before taking on the Trygon. | |

| Howdy! A little update on swarm size, got me a nice coupon for a hobby shop, used it for a Tyranid Swarm Box, an army shot ensued: So much to paint | |

| Welcome! I painted the Trygon. (sorry no Carnifex at the moment, it wasn't primed and then it was too cold to do so) Also did the bases for the Termagants. Hope you like 'em! | |
