1850pts- Vect host against Hive fleet

Hi,

This is my first battle report ever so be indulgent with me. For my opponent and me it was only the third game in 7ed and we want to test some units:

Warlord Traits: DE - Master of Ambush (Warlord & 3 units have Infiltrate rule) but a no use since all my unit were vehiculed.

First Turn: DE thanks to Vect

Deployment:
6'x4' table at our local games store (Gamer's Vault). Terrain should have been Dawn of war but it was already set for ammer and Anvils. The six objectives have been set by a external person.Tyty win the toss and choose to deploy first. All unit are in the front line. Tyranid get the following power:
- Hive Tyrant :Dominion, Onslaught, catalyst
-Tervogon: Dominion, Onslaught
- Zoanthrope: Dominion, scream, Warp
- Zoanthrope: Dominion, Onslaught, warp

Turn1 - DE:



Thanks to Vect I get first turn. Beast pack, Wracks on raider, Ravager, Vect and one Venom are moving forward. Two objectives the tervigon for the left wing and the HT for the right. After hitting with everything I've got I finally down the Tervigon, one synapse less. Vect and the venon doesn't do anything since the HT is on swooping mode.
I get FB.

Turn 1- Tyr:



Everything move forward. The termagant passed their test for instinct and the zoantrope come forward for synapse range and the HT get in the middle. The Term shot at the beast and get 2. The HT get the wrack raider and the carnifex get 4 of the them after.The others are OoR.



Tyr get TM 24 with the Swarm B.

DE 1 - Tyr 1

Turn 2 - DE

The wrack and haemonculus liquified some termagant while the beast go for the them and get hit by overwatch but succeed to get then in CC and whip them out. The Razorwing arrived and fire on the HT and do nothing (thanks FnP). Vect and its grot+haemon desembark to go to th exocrine. The dais and the venom fire upon some horman to open a line for Vect. He get to the exocrine and only do 1W and the grot 1W (thanks FnP).  I get 1 zoanthrope with the TB with 2 SC and gain TM62.The rest try to down the HT without success (thanks FnP).


Turn 2 - Tyr

The Trygon failed to arrive. The Swarm succeed their instinct test. The HT move to a ruin and fire on the razorwing, hit it, make a pen with immobilized and I fail my crash test.So long for the flyer. The tyranids move back to get TM25 and TM35. The Carnifexes move to charge Vect unit and killed 1 grot and the haemonculus. Vect killed the exocrine and hormangaunt get 2 grot. The Zoan and Venom move toward the CC.

DE 2 - Tyr 3

I believe you have an illegal list; Vect needs nine models on the Dais. Grotesques being bulky doesn't count as far as I know. Also, I thought flyers needed to roll for crashing if immobilized, not glanced.

I'm curious as to how the rest of the game went though.

For the Dais, since grot count as 2 model and I get the haemoculus to complete the ninth place, I thought the count was right. In fact the flyer was immobilized (I corrected the post).

Turn 3 - DE



So the beast go for the Zoan and Venom, finish them in a double assault (gain a second PT) and consolidate to the carnifex. the venom and Dais fire on the warriorn failed to finish them (1w on 1 warrior left) but get to TM15 since the warrior is more than 3" from the objective. Vect survive the  CC alone. The remain of the army fire on the swooping HT and get only 1 wound (thanks FnP).


Turn 3 -Tyr



The trygon failed again to arrive.The carnifex move toward the objective 6 in the ruin. The horman move toward the aquila field. The HT move back in his zone and failed to kill in firing. The tyranid warrior down the venom in CC and get the TM 15 and 53. Vect failed its shield and get smached by the carnifex granting them StW.

DE 3 - Tyr 6

Turn 4 - DE


The Dais move behind the the warrior and kill him for control of the objective 5. The kabalite move in the ruin near objective 2 and kill 2 horma with fire. one venom wound the exocrine. The beast charge the horma and finis them (third PT) and consolidate to the carnifex.. the rest fire on the HT and do 2 wound (thanks FnP). I get TM 44 for 3 objectives controled.



Turn 4 - Tyr


The Trygon finnally arrive and scattered to the ruin, fire on the TB with SC, kill one and I failed my moral and fall back. The HT move to objective 3 and killed the wrack and haemonulus. The carnifex fire upon the beast kill some then charge and kill all but one master and I succeed my moral.


DE 4 - Tyr 6

Turn 5 - DE

The Dais goes behin the ruin to fire upon the HT, no result. Both venom go ruins. The first fire on the carnifexes, nothing (armour save+ FnP), the other fire on the trigon, and did 1 wound. The raider move to the objectine 3 and fire on the HT, nothing but get the TM13. The TB with DL fire on the HT, nothing. The TB with SC regroup and fire on the trygon in snap, nothing. The  kabalite move in the ruin and fire on the trigon and nothing (armour save+ FnP).



Turn 5- Tyr

The HT and the Trygon go for the kabalite, fire and make them fall back. The carnifex fire and destroyed the venom and get the TM26.




DE 5 - Tyr 7
We throw the dice for turn 6 and we get one more turn.

Turn 6 - DE

The Dais move to shoot at the carnifex and fail to kill it but still get LB. So the venom must fire upon him and finish him but can't get the TM16 but get the TM53. The ravager move back to fire awa the TB with DL on the HT and get only 1 more wound. The kabalite regroup but do 1 wound on the trigon awa the TB with SC. The trygon is down to 1W.


Turn 6 - Tyr

The HT move to hide in ruin and the trygon go to the ravager removing only 1HP in fire and 1 in CC. He also get LB.
The HT cast a power and get TM 56.


No more turn.

Final score: DE 7 - Tyr 9

Aftermath analysis:

This was my first big game in 7ed. Overall it was a balanced game. The Tyranid get up to the last turn thanks to the FnP given by catalyst, that save a lot of wound on the HT, the exocrine and the carnifex.

Vect and his retinue + Dais are a good unit but I should have go for the tyranid warrior first instead of the exocrine and I forget to used the liquifer on him. So 3/5.
The beast have done their job really well without any boost from character, so 5/5.
The true born are ok but I've waisted too much shots on the HT, so 4/5.
The same for the venom, I've waisted too much shots on the HT, so 4/5.
The Razorwing, too short a live to evaluate, so 1/5

By the way I've send a email to GW about the possibility of put 4 Grot + IC in the Dais in additon to Vect.
