Meh, there were 30 players in this tournament. My local tournaments get to the 30's. Hardly worthy of an "International" title.
While I'd be interested in seeing his list as well, even winning this isn't nearly as impressive to me as placing in the top 30 of a major tournament like the BAO or LVO that has 200-300 players.

Not that I can find.
But if you look at the image from the tournament and the video the lists appear to be identical.
Here is the link to the report of the tournament with pictures included:

He runs 1 blaster + kabalite venom spam with lahmean venom hq.
CTC with all haywire + ichor injectors.
Its extreme MSU, works very well with the old skimmer rules.
Keep in mind this was an invite only tournament.
If you like MSU I highly suggest checking out his channel though. Tabletop Tactics is the name on youtube. He is a MSU pro and master of deployment. He will run away with maelstrom points against almost any opponent. Definitely not your average Eldar player.
Here is the video of his army profile for those interested. Keep in mind this is all pre FAQ.
Lawrence, love your work. Keep it up brotha.
I really wish I was better off. Would love to support these youtube channels but I can barely afford my own plastic >.<
The list for those that cant watch the video:

I say what I've said, not to take anything away from an individual's accomplishment. This is a good accomplishment for the individual that won. If they're a member here, or read this, they have my congratulations. My comments are meant to highlight that this result is not reflective of the state of the army/faction, and that it would be unlikely to do so well in a more populated field, even in expert hands.

We don't agree on much, but that's pretty much my take on this. Very good job, and I'm glad the CTC is seeing some love.

No? I find myself in agreement with you quite often. It -could- be that it seems like we disagree more often because I routinely don't respond to someone that I agree with. I generally post when I feel like a dissenting opinion needs be displayed in a thread, or if I feel something was left out.
I may occasionally give an affirmation of agreement, but it's certainly not my usual modus operandi.
Either way, agree or disagree, I've always appreciated your intelligence and civility in threads. Keep it up!

Could also be my paranoia. I have a disturbing tendency to view things that aren't even directed at me as personal attacks and declarations of my ignorance.
In any event, I'd be interested to know in what ways the field was limited at this event. ('Invitation only' indicates to me that the normal army spread you'd see at a large tourney like the BAO or LVO isn't going to necessarily be the lay of the land here.)
Side note: I know single Lhamaean lists can be really potent, but an army without a real warlord leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (This is why I don't throw rocks at people who refuse to use Eldar allies: I understand avoiding a strategically strong choice because it rubs you the wrong way.)

Thanks for the support folks! Yes, I did manage to take the tournament again after winning it the first time round as well.
Just to clarify, the event is on the ITC circuit so did pull in some excellent players and I had to face some very competitive lists to win the event, including a 6 scat pack, Skatach Wraithknight force for example. The full tournament round up is on my Vox Cast video on YouTube, but if any of you have any questions about it, I'll try and answer them here when I get a chance.
Cheers,
Lawrence

The spider himself! Good job man.
Must have been nice pulling orks, sisters, and nids as opponents compared with your eldar marathon last tournament, still cant believe you pulled that many eldar opponents out of that bracket.

@WhysoSully Hahaha! It really was!! The Eldar list I fought in the semi final was very strong, it was like facing my own Eldar in fact

Thanks for taking the time to come comment (and make an account by the looks of things!).
I'd love to know if you think you'd still take the blasters on the warriors given the new jink rules - been pondering this myself.
Also do you find the blasters on the reavers effective (I'm guessing so as you included them) - I've only played a couple games with reavers since recently starting up again and found that I am generally either turbo boosting or have just jinked the turn before - I used to keep heat lances on them.
I actually like the idea of the haywire blasters on the CTC (full disclosure I've never run one as I only own one talos) - but as far as DE anti tank goes it sounds a ton more durable than the rest of our options and more poison isn't exactly hard to come by. I saw in your video you mentioned you weren't sure about that choice- what are your thoughts after playing?

Congrats again, and welcome to The Dark City!
What were the criteria to warrant an invitation to this tournament?

Thanks folks! I'll try and answer these questions for you.
@kehmor Hahaha, I've been lurking on the forum for years as Dark Eldar are my favourite army but I felt the need to sign up after seeing this post.
This was my first proper outing with the CTC myself and I learned an incredible ammount using it.
My list works extremely well against all sorts of opponent as it has a healthy ammount of combat, anti tank and anti infantry ability. However I was trapped into thinking that the haywire would be a good choice on the CTC. It isn't. The reality is that the haywire will be lucky to destroy a rhino that's in cover! Whilst I did find it useful occasionally, there wasn't a single game that I played where the splinter cannons wouldn't have been a thousand times better.
However, without the haywire (which I found wasn't that reliable anyway), I really need some proper anti tank in the army. Because of this, I am changing my reaver Blasters to Heat Lances.
As for the value of the lances and Blasters on my squads and Reavers? I pay for those weapons every time and 'never' regret it. The new FAQ will have very little effect on the way that I play the army, as my deployment style actually suits it.
Against any army with enough fire power to start dropping multiple venoms, I hide and back line my venoms where possible, i.e I use the superior range of my venoms cannon and movement to return fire with, so I almost never fire the passengers in the first turn.
Turn 2 I usually spring my trap and after having moved I disembark my warriors to maximise threat saturation. Because of this, I am not usually in the venoms long enough to care about the whole jinking FAQ.
I also learned that the way that I use Reavers, also makes the weapon very worth it, although I massively regretted taking Blasters over heat lances. Turn 1 I move my MSU Reavers into position mid board, often making use of the LOS blocking terrain off centre (which all ITC tournaments are supposed to have), then turn 2 I move out and tend to be within 9" of my target anyway, making the lance and it's melta a far superior anti tank weapon. It is then simply a matter of shooting and jumping back behind terrain or assaulting if your target is still alive. M
MSU Reavers are the real deal. When used correctly, they are very difficult for a lot of opponents to counter and provide our army with the painfully lacking anti tank we need.
@hydranixx Yeah! The Chef and the Beard had a blast!
@BetrayTheWorld Thanks! The first No Reteat Tournament wasn't invitational and more of a regular purchase process. The second which just went by became invitational due to the demand. As it just went onto the ITC circuit it attracted a lot of tournament regulars in the UK. The SN guys wanted to try and get a mix of the best players, with a high standard of painting on their armies to give the tournament a premium sort of vibe. They definitely succeeded in that regard

Hey Lawrence! Congrats! I was hoping this post would draw you out from the shadows!
I'm stoked that your using msu reavers. I love my reavers more than is healthy for a grown man. They always impress and annoy the hell out of my opponents.
I hope you stick around and drop us a post or comment from time to time.
