A relatively small Coven, comprising of only some three Haemonculi, although with a much larger number of Wracks and Pain Engines than their few overlords would suggest. Strongly tied to the Kabal of the Radiant Abyss, and thus by extension to the Cult of the Bloodied Thorn, the Coven has thus managed to gain protection from its enemies.
The Haemonculus in charge of the Coven is the Dark Mother, Azhdahak, a follower of the discipline known as the Sculptors Empyric, specialising in the works of the soul, finding employ primarily in the regeneration of the dead, and the growth of new life. What is unknown outside the Coven itself is that Azhdahaks studies have grown beyond this, and into far darker areas. While the Dark Mother is rules the Coven of the Dragon Ascendant above two other Haemonculi, in truth they are all Azhdahak, whose studies have allowed her soul to be regrown in multiple forms at once, albeit to lessening stability each time. Her original body, as much as any Haemonculus can be said to have such, remains youthful in appearance, despite the many serpentine and draconic alterations made to better suit the Covens namesake. The 'second-born', known to outsiders only as the Soul-Crone, is far more haggard in appearance, and masquerades as a Master of Apotheosis to her allies, while the last, facetiously referred to as the Dark Maiden, is a tormented, half-formed thing of exposed muscle and sinew, permanently connected via nerve, artery and gristle to a slave-attendant which acts as a sump, storing the organs which the main body lacks. Current experiments are ongoing to create another 'sister', although none have yet been successful.
It is known that each Wrack is implanted with either the flesh or blood from the Dark Mother, a soul-portion just strong enough to influence the behaviour of the implantee, encouraging obedience and almost religious devotion. Acothysts are rewarded with further ties in ceremonies of dark communion, ritually consuming the flesh and blood of Azhdahak, strengthening the soul-portion inside.
