Tank formations?

Hey guys, I was just browsing GW web store when I saw 3 bane blades in a combo pack. If those are super heavies does that suggest a new tank book coming out? They also had combo packs for eldar, tau, and assorted imperium armies.

No. More likely GW just want to sell Baneblades.

In the Mont'ka book is a Formation called the Emperors Fury Super-Heavy Company. 3 Super-Heavy Guard tanks, plus one Enginseer.

Looking at the seven Tank Squadron sets on the GW store, those are all formations that exist already.

There is one, but it's apoc formation called Ravager Titan Hunters. 5 ravagers They ignore any shields (holo,void) & have some extre defensive rules

Next codex we get we should get squadrons, if it's like the craftworld codex, they will be extra rules, possibly vehicle formations.

Gw did release such a pack when the apoc book was just out. Right now it's still valid, but the apoc rules are severely out of date.

I think as a stop gap GW should just state that the Apoc formations for DE are valid for standard games. Some of them would work very well even if the rules aren't quite 100% compatible. The Titan Hunter formation would be a great one to use.

At the very least in the next incarnation DE need to get Ravager squadrons of upto 3 models. Ideally they'd get a formation on top of that too. I'd love to see a Ravager Silent Hunter Squadron - 3 Ravagers that you have to by lances and nightshields for. Get to operate as 3 individual units but if any of them are within 12" of another they get choose one enemy unit they can see and all 3 ravagers get the Tank Hunter ability vs that target for the turn. Each Ravager also gets Stealth. Think of them as WW2 tank hunters operating with Wolf Pack tactics - hiding in cover and sniping away enemy armour.
