The Monthly Vow - October - make a promise and keep it!

What are you going to build/paint/convert in October?

Make a vow and in the end of the month, show us your progress with a picture...
(or stand ashamed in a corner)

Okay, this month:
-Finish painting on Wracks and do their bases
-Get my Scourges assembled and basecoated
-Clean up my Wyches and Warriors (they were my first units, so they ugly)

Finish building and painting my Void Raven.

Finish building my Tantalus kitbash.

Convert another squad of Grotesques from Rat Ogres.

And as a bonus, 40K permitting - finish painting and installing the new baseboard and door-frame trim upstairs in my house!

1 Talos made and painted
1 Razorwing Jetfighter painted

I have alot of work to get done.

For the Dark Kin and the feel of pain.

Wooosh! If Cailos pulls all that off he wins October (and a good month for a lot of DE stuff anyway )

Here's me;

- Finish assembly (already 90% done) and paint my Sathypants model. (I'm tired of using my Helliarch model for it)
- Paint my Duke Sliscus model.
- Assemble/paint up two Ravagers in hopes of doing a fully painted army for Apocalypse game I'm hoping to manage.
- Paint one 10 man "squad" of Ork Shoota boyz

A little bit of green to go with all the blue I'll be painting

Finish painting 6 reavers.
Convert a blasterborn from a raider hanger-on.
Purchase and assemble a ravager.

Along with the unfinished stuff from last month:
Finish painting the succubus
Finish painting a raider.

And if Tamiya's factory in Japan comes back online- buy and apply the Teal Clearcoat to these vehicles and last month's Venoms/Ravager.

Hmm gonna shoot low because I haven't gotten much done since school started.

Finish 1 raider (25% painted)
Finish 1 warrior squad (75% painted)
convert and paint 2 hydra gauntlet wyches
convert and paint 2 dark lance warriors
Get my camera back and post more stuffs in my project log.

I will aim to finish at least two of those plus pics. I have spent like 2 months slowly picking away at the warriors and raider and doing other stuff instead.

Hmm... "finish sculpting my Raider" again I guess.
Also, Wraithlords Engines.

Actually finish a squad. Any squad. Probably the Scourges. I have a real problem with leaving things be!

I wont have any dead-lines, aka tournaments, with the dark eldars for quite a while so I have no idea what I'll do.

But I promise I'll build a couple of miniatures at least, probably a scourge and a haemonculi.

About a week in and I'm about halfway through painting Duchess, and the slave girl on her base. Still have only done base green flesh on the Orks, need to find time to shade and highlight - much less all the rest. Have managed about 1/2 the conversion work on the Ravagers, so, 1/2 yet to go, then basecoat, then paint. Have figured out I will be attaching the severed head bit to Female Sathypants conversion - then still have that to basecoat and paint as well.

Not bad for Week 1 - I'm basically doing a tournament this weekend so probably won't get a lot done there (though I'm fielding a Sliscus list so want to finish Duchess by then - I like my odds).

Had a potential job offer flit across my radar that would suck me out of town for a while...so have to play that by ear as far as these goals go (sorry painting, jobs come first )

As we approach the weekend, I'm curious - how is everyone else doing? You're already 1/6 of the way through the month as of this post, remember to pace yourselves and get those projects finished.

I have done about 1/3 of my first Looted Wraithlord Engine.

The blasterborn just needs her base.

The Grot squad is largely built.

The Voidraven is back in one piece and awaiting finishing touches, although a late-night brainwave last night may delay that.

The Tantalus is still in pieces.

And another urgent project has distracted me at home.

I'm still on reasonable schedule.

I vow to build my jealousy at all you people who have so much time to paint and make awesome looking models . . . .

Unless house repairs count as Dark Eldar

Oh, I may be able to get some cheap Dire Avengers, which mean I may be able to make few "old school (scorpion-like)" plastic Incubi (shave the plumes, so they would look little like old Incubi)


Also, their armour is more "armoured" than current Incubi (that happen to wear Kabalite armours, with better helmets and few additional plates).

Obviously it would require some sculpting mambo-jambo as well as making decent CC weapons (I guess dual bladed sword would suit them best)

I'm finishing up the paint on the Wyches Raider by Saturday.

I removed the decking for the gunner's platform to make room for my Talos-tail gun mount. I plan to have a couple of extra tentacles rising out from the base of the tail to give the "something spooky bellow deck" effect. Could look cool, might suck. Either way it will be different?

Buying the Ravager tomorrow. Assembling the Trueborn this weekend.

I vow to paint my first Kabalite squad (and post my progress in my project log).

Sod it. I vow to paint two small orkish barricades and a "Comorrite Stalagmite" piece of terrain by the end of the month.

I`ll make a 10 warrior Squad and a 5 Scourge Squad. I loved building the Scourges, so far my favourite unit to build.

Well... i missed this, somehow, but here is what i want to get done.

1 Succubus
9 Bloodbrides (with 3 Hydrablades)
5 Scourges
atleast 1 Raides (see if i can get 2 done)
1 Ravager

looks not much yet... maybe i get toher stuff done aswell... but i will have a couple of exams in a few weeks and that will slow me down massively

Have to add a Haem to that aswell. He is made just needs paint.
