| Welcome to The Dark City!
I spend a lot of time helping people with their lists on here, so anything that helps make that quicker is much appreciated. If you can reformat your list to be much easier to read, I'll be happy to offer a bit of critique. Basically should look like this:
Combined arms detachment:
Archon 60 2x 5 Kabalite Warriors in venoms 95 3x Ravagers w/Triple Dark Lances 375 etc

| Hopefully now it'll be a little less unwieldy to sort through! Thanks for the pointer! | |

| MUCH better! Thank you! Ok, looking over what you've got there, I should point out that wracks really aren't that great this edition. Since you're coming back from 5th edition, one major change you should be aware of is the rule called "Objective Secured". It's REALLY important because ALL units are scoring now, but in certain formations, troops get the "objective secured" rule, which basically overrides other units ability to score. Essentially, if a unit with "objective secured" is within range of an objective, they automatically score that objective regardless of other units around to contest, UNLESS said contesting unit ALSO has "objective secured". Since we can no longer make wracks troops in our normal Combined arms detachment(where "ojective secured" comes from), wracks have become a really sub-par choice. The grotesquerie, however, is awesome. One of our best formations! I'm not a big fan of Urien there, simply because the "father of pain" rule he has doesn't really help the grots that much. Once they have fearless at turn 2, the other stuff from their PfP chart isn't that big of a deal. Everything else looks reasonable. I've never used the vengeance weapon batteries, so I'd have to look up the rules on those as a refresher. If memory serves though, they're only BS2, and can't be fired manually. Good luck, and I hope I've helped a bit. Let me know if you have any questions! Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do! | |

| I'm holding out hope that Wracks will get better somewhere down the road. I'm hoping to just use them to pin down units that the Grotesques aren't *currently* dealing with.
As for urien, I figured he would slot in well with the grots since he's T5 and fairly tough. I may consider dropping him to a regular Haemonculus and see what I can do with the spare points.
I'm probably going to hold the two Warrior Venoms in reserve and either DS them or turbo boost them to contest objectives later in the game, since they do benefit from Objective Secured at least. (Damnit GW where are my obsec wracks!)
The vengeance are there just to offer reasonably cheap AA

| Cool, well, entirely up to you! It's your list! But between Urien and the Wracks, you have a fair amount of points tied up. If you dropped Urien down to a normal Haemonculus, and dropped the wracks' detachment, you could just make another CAD and add the following to your army: 1x Medusae 2x 5 Kabalite Warriors in dual cannon venoms 210 3x Ravagers w/Triple Dark Lances 375 It would give you more 1st turn alpha strike, and more obsec. I'd use a warrior squad to hold an objective in your deployment zone and embark the Medusae on one of the venoms. Either way, good luck, and let us know what you decide! | |
