| Hmm. Very interesting.
I absolutely love that they brought Artemis back. And in the same pose too!

| So the box has about $220 in Harlequin value. What's the price tag going to be? | |

| Craftworld Eldar already restrict travel from other Craftworlders, with Alaitoc being especially xenophobic, so really the current state of Eldar where they'll fight battles together but sleep in different beds is good enough.
If they want to unify things further I'd focus on corsair fleets that might get their ships supplied from their Craftworld but dock in Commoragh and recruit from Kabalites, gladiators, hellion gangs and so on. So instead of forcibly merging existing factions you're growing one that exists in the background but doesn't receive much attention.

Wait...are you saying it's cheaper to buy it just for the harlies and throw out the other half?

| So it is certainly talking about Ynnead then. That is good to know. | |

| I never thought it would be anything else. GW has been building to this for a while with mentions in the Craftworld and Harlequin codexes. Ynnead will rise and do something nasty to Slaanesh, probably with the aid of Cegorach. No doubt the Deathwatch will stick their noses in at some point and try to balls the whole thing up for everyone. | |

| I assumed it was talking about Ynnead, too. But GW took Matt Ward back, so I'm not making assumptions at GW's direction at the moment. Wanted to see confirmation before I decided properly.
I will likely purchase it with my brother and split the parts.

| In UK I reckon that's going to be ~£100 but the retail price of the Harlequins alone is ~£125 so that's not a bad deal at all, especially if you can split with a mate who wants the Deathwatch dudes. | |

| Here in Australia, I'm expecting the price to be somewhat steeper (I'll possibly have to put my house on the market and sell my oldest child for scientific experiments). | |

| Turns out black shields are characters within the deathwatch (and playable via the codex), so there is one less mystery anyway... well I assume.
Deathwatch codex looks pretty brutal as you might expect, and seems to be a strong move away from the "simplification" of the rule set. Basically everything can take just about all of the options you'd expect for every similar marine squad. Basic units can take cc weapons like assault troops, special weapons like command squads or up to 4 heavy weapons like devestators (or any combination of the 3). Bikers can all take cheap power swords or melta bombs - although they're 30 points a piece base. Termis can all take heavy weapons or melta guns to go along with their stormbolters. Pretty much everything gets special ammo including characters, and some can take super special ammo with instant death which will be bad for grots. Also more S10 hammers will have that effect as well.
Their shotguns get shred and longer range, their sniper rifles are heavy 2 (for some reason), so I'd say the power creep is still going strong. Lots of 1 use template weapons... reminds me of redemptionists.
Tons of 1 unit formations, most giving bonuses vs specific unit slots (like fast attack, troops, or elite).
The new deathwatch flyer transport can carry pretty much anything including bikes and jump pack troops, although in their decurion everything gets deep strike anyway.

| The RPG clarified what blackshields are (for those who played it at least) but the fact they added them is interesting.
The Harlies get the short end of the stick sadly...
Formation of 2 (and only 2) jet bikes which reroll jink
Formation from the box gives all models FNP6+ which can never be negated and eldrad gets eternal

| Well, now we know: What I'm intrigued by, is the inevitable (and labelled) formations in the box. What possible fun could you have from a formation with THOSE Harlequins PLUS ELDRAD. Considering the presence of Eldrad, I'm guessing psychic shenangans. Has there been any leak on this yet? | |
