Hello everyone! I'm brand new to 40k with no models and looking for a model goal with 1500pts. Once there I should have the experience to pick what I want toward 1850.
My friends play DE and Imperial Guard... Not sure on local meta in Austin TX. I'm looking for a more all comers list.

General Idea- I think I'm light on infantry killing but I want to steer away from D templates for my heavy hitters. Prince goes with the shuriken cannon Balestrikes to deepstrike some poor unit. I think I will go with collector of ancient treasures and get mask of secrets. Barons go with respective scatbikes and roll on telekinesis... Using prescience probably. Lance and scatbikes should start on the board depending on terrain... Possibly outflank. Hornets outflank, depending on opponents alpha strike. Lance Balestrikes should start on the board as well... Kinda same boat as bikes. Nightwing jinks and helps deter air superiority. Though my friends don't have imperial knights I kinda assume most people I play at FLGS will.
I'm hoping the shadowfields with help get me past turn one's long range shooting. If they have drop pods this list is toast
