I just hope that they stay unique to the Custodes and don't become part of the Space Marines armories.

While I'm sure that there will be 40k rules released for it this is mostly aimed at 30k and the coming release of the Horus Heresy Inferno book. The Legio Custode were much more active and fought on several battle fields during the Great Crusade. They were also present in a few engagements such as Prospero where the Emperor had sent them to show that the sanction or order was issued by his authority.
