1500 Dark Eldar list

You just need an overflow of targets. I rarely stay out of 12'' with anything. I use Warriors' Raiders to block advance, screen off the shooting for the killers, etc. In the face. Thats where we are supposed to be.

i was planing on hugging cover with them laying down cover fire for everyone else, at least thats what i had envisioned.

Try one game where you use part army as sacrifical and as a shield and LOS blocker for the rest of it. And concentrate everything on one of his flanks to limit his field of fire. Those cover bonuses 1st turn from our formation for our troops can be used to the benefit of this - you do not need cover terrain. :-) Troops have 5+ auto and the rest gets 5+ from the troops. :-D

ok so i retract my statement about the grotesques. they are amazing to say the least. got a chance to play last night and they seemed extremly good a fellow eldar play let me barrow some of his models as proxies and a few untis from the eldar list. performs decent except against the flamers wipe a whole squad and an hq in 1 turn with one unit.

Flamers? Regular S3 flamers? They should not be so much of a problem.

no he had s5 or 6 and ap was 2-3. had 4 monstrous creatures and a big ass walker (wraith lord maybe, it was the biggest wraith __ you can get bigger than the guy in the eldar codex, not sure how he got it)and then 3 troops. seemed like a chesse list. he was playing eldar. i think the only non flamers he had was 2 physicers.

I'd ask him to show you his list because the Eldar army has a grand total of 4 template weapons in it, and one of them is on a tank nobody uses! The others are available in relatively small numbers either due to limitations in the codex (Guardians with Flamers or Fire Dragon Exarchs with Dragon's Breath Flamers) or due to the cost of models (Wraithguard with D-Scythes) and none of them match the weapon stats you quoted.

the one he blew up my squad with was win linked and everyone in the squad had one. maybe he had wrathguards too. i know the big guy had toughness 8 str 8 and 8 wounds. never did kill him. he didnt have many units maybe 7 and a transport with 2 hq's at 1850 only 3 of those were infaintry. maybe he lied about them all haveing flamers cause i always ask. but never let him get in range on me to find out. after the first sqaud.

the monstrous guys 4 total had 3 hull points toughness 5 or 6 i thinkl, he had a weeker flamer

Okay, I'm beginning to think that your opponent is a gigantic cheat as the description you've given bares little resemblance to any Eldar units.

If he didn't have Wraithguard then he was cheating as no other unit in the codex is able to take a template weapon on all models. If he did have Wraithguard then I can only assume he cast a psychic power on them as their weapons are not twin-linked. They are however D-weapons!

I'm not surprised as Wraithknights are tough enough as they are without adding extra Wounds (they 'only' have 6).

You need to pull this guy up and ask him, politely, to show you his list and explain what the units are, what weapons they have etc. It sounds like he's taking advantage of your lack of knowledge about his units to do things he is not allowed to do.

In all honesty... do not take other players' word for granted. Maybe next time take a photo of his army, people here are quite knowledgeable and can quickly tell you what was wrong there.

he may have been. i think he was a little salty cause i beat him last time despite my lack of knowledge. i just ask a 100 questions till i can figure out a plan. battle reports is a great idea ty aurynn
