Hey guys, first post here since 2013. I fell deep to nurgle, than dabbled with some Thousand Sons... now with Ynarri I think that this is too cool to resist.

I'm going to be focusing on building forces for kill team first. Unfortunately it seems my mandrakes can't be used by Ynarri for some reason?

I'm thinking of 2 different purchases to start this off.

1. Gangs of commorragh. I am pretty interested in using the hellions as beast masters to go along with all my WHFB dire wolves.

2. Start Collecting DE. I would probably just run a raider full of warriors with splinter racks. Can I add a shadowseer to the list too since it would still be ynarri faction?

Any other ideas for some good buys? I will be playing against some incredibly hard lists and good players.

It doesn't appear that you can make a kill team with Ynnari. Ynnari can only be brought in a Reborn Warhost.

Since in Kill Teams you cannot take formations, you cannot play Ynnari. If you could, they would be supremely OP.

Yep. Only option is to take Eldar or DE, or Corsairs and just call them Ynnari.

@Logan Frost, Kill Teams disallows any formations or HQ units or heavy support. The only ways to have the Ynnari faction are to either: 1) select a formation from GSII, or 2) Be taken from a reborn warhost formation that requires an HQ selection.

Since ynnari are their own faction, and kill team uses a specific cad for the game, could they be taken that way?

Your previous point makes total sense, but I guess they could be treated as any other faction in that regard.

To the best of my knowledge, per RAW, they cannot due to how they gain that faction, as they do not have their own codex.

Yes RAW I'd say you can't.

On a side note, consider running 5 kabalites in the raider and 6 bikes. Its insanely good in killteam. I ran that list at a local tournament and won 6 games in a row. Lost the final unfortunately, dam 25 man IG blob...

For AT and because 12 poison shots are wasted on a single model, I'd prefer to have the Dark lance or Desie cannon to take on tough targets.

I don't have the rules right now, but I remember reading that even if the single models count as 5 units you can embark the models as if they are a unit of 5 as normal.

Ok well my friends are going to allow us to use Ynarri in killteam. Probably ynarri v ynarri v ynarri triple threat match. Also at my local GW people just load their marine squad in a rhino (and man that thing is like a land raider in KT).

In case I face a stickler to RAW, I guess I will try what you guys are saying and just go with DE (I like them more anyways). Are upgrades like splinter racks or aether sails worth it for the raider? I will probably buy the start collecting set first then and only have the 3 reavers at first, then later get the gangs of commoragh to bolster forces. How are beastmasters with kymera/claw fiends now?

Those upgrades are almost never worth it. Especially in Kill teams.

They are great... but not in kill teams. The kill teams morale rules are really bad for low LD Models like beasts.

Reaver jetbikes have been king for me for a while, they are really good in killteam!

Would the ability to take 10 beast masters as a unit and hide them in ruins to fire from make them useful though? My opponent will be using harlequins I think, so I don't know I want to CC with him. If I have to jink with the reavers it gimps my shooting, but a beastmaster can just use ruins as cover and still fire away? Also that way I have more models on the table.

I could go something like
4 warriors + sybalite with haywire in raider
9 beastmasters (or 5 reavers and 5th warrior)

or
9 warriors + sybarite with haywire in raider
3 reavers or 4 beastmasters

Although I suppose the 2nd list is very vulnerable to an explodes result despite being quite mobile. I figure model count may have some importance? Also not sure the sybarite with haywire is a good buy because that would be 1 more model instead of the upgrade, but I thought the +1 leadership for break test might be good since he can rally those around him.

Which should I go with?

Neither. Your hamstringing yourself by not using the kill teams special rules which those units as composed won't benefit from.

Skilled Rider, Reaping Volley, and then either FNP or Fearless (whichever you prefer), all on the three Scatbikes. One of the Splinterbikes is your leader, but it's largely irrelevant since I've never had one of the leader traits affect me significantly.

This list has performed BRUTALLY for me.
