1850 Covens/Ynnari

Basically this list has a mix of covens units and a reborn warhost detachment. The scalpel squadron can deep strike closer to the enemy or the reaver squad can turbo boost to put units close for the yncarne to come out. The shadowseer will most likely be throwing out psychic shrieks the whole game with a potential -3 decrease to enemy leadership. Kind of wanted to make the shadowseer mastery level 2 by freeing up points somewhere.

Edit: Also a question as I'm not sure, would I be able to just stick the footslogging Lhaemaean into one of the raiders with the Grotesques?

Unfortunately you cannot as the Lhamean is not an IC so cannot join other units. Nice way to get a Soulburst if your opponent doesn't know ynnari however

Thanks, I thought that was probably the case but wasn't certain.

Do Covens units count as Aeldari for purposes of the Yncarne's regeneration?

That's a damn fine question and 1 I was actually looking for clarification on. I don't have my book but I'm assuming when it says aeldari it refers to any unit you can take as part of the reborn warhost so I would lean towarda no. But I will happily be proved wrong.

I believe they would, "aeldari" refers just to eldar, dark eldar, or harlequins, or ynnari according to the book. Ynnari are the things like reborn warhost detachment, but aeldari is from any of the codexes if I am not mistaken. This also means that if you are playing the yncarne vs an opponent playing one of the codexes above, your yncarne would heal when their models die too.

Edit: I guess this makes yncarne pretty ridiculous when playing against any other sort of eldar, harlequin, or dark eldar army. I haven't actually had the chance to try it on the table yet myself though.

Yes, Covens are Aeldari. They have the Dark Eldar faction.

Interestingly, I believe under current RAW that Corsairs are not.

Aren't corsair considered as "eldar" ?

Aeldari are any unit with the Dark Eldar, Craftworlds, Harlequins or Ynnari faction.

As ridiculous at it sounds, RAW an Ssliz is an Aeldari, but a corsair prince is not. Page 114 of Fracture of Biel-Tan.
