Covens 1850

So I'm going to start taking the following, namely because it fits in one case and saves me lugging a large one plus a large bag full of stuff. It'll probably get smashed by Grav weapons, but should be fun.

Coven list: 1850.

Dark artisan: 400
Chronos- Spirt Probe
Talos- Ichor Injectors, Heat Lance
heami- Nightmares Doll, Scissorhand WWP

4grots, Abberation, scissorhand

Heami, scissorhand
2x Raiders, nightshields, dark lance.

So 4 formations, lots of high toughness, no obsec, 2 venoms, CTC. Should Still have 20 points to spend, so may give the second grot squad an Abberation as well or an extra body at least. Will probably drop the dark lances on the raiders, and may give a second Abberation and swap both to agonisers.

Flyers, psykers, heavy armour, grav, anything AP3 or better are all going to give you a very hard time, as will anything with ObjSec.

It's a solid list. I would use the DA haemmy as your Warlord, to increase the survivability of the DA and CTC. Prioritize grav units unless you bring an allied psyker for cover or Invisibility.

It's a very fun list.

I'd like to see a battle report of that. I'm not sure if it's tournament competitive but it's pretty much damn fun I'd guess!

Na it's not for tournament play, just my local seems to be mostly 1850 lists and I'm sick of lugging so much stuff with me lol. DA heami is always warlord.

As for counters

Flyers- I'll do what I always do against them and ignore them.

Grav- bubble wrap like no tomorrow, start the DA on the board behind CTC, which in turn will be behind the raiders and grots.

Heavy armour- thankfully there's not much around my area, mostly transports I'd need to deal with

Ap3 or higher- CTC sticks close to cover, hope the DA comes in turn 2, boost the FnP save, or deployed following the CTC.

Psykers- Yeah, these will be fun. Hopefully no one realises that's shriek will be the death of the Grots and instead focuses on the CTC.

No Obsec- I don't hold objectives anyway, and usually place objectives midfield, as close to each other as possible, so I can keep them clear of squads holding them. Late game the wracks, if they are alive, will sit there.
