| While I don't forsee Freakshow lists being able to table enemies in the Morale phase I can certainly see them milking it for a surprising amount of damage and relying on their opponent's unfamiliarity with their rules (especially since the edition will be new) to win games. That being said I think there is a chance that allied lists will be hard to make in the next edition of the game because of the keyword mechanics, Stratagems, and Command Points that will both make it harder to form alliance-based armies and encourage staying within a single faction (which makes me happy because I like being dedicated to a theme). Hopefully that won't be the case and tactically the tradeoff between running allies or solo-faction armies will be balanced 50/50, because while I may not want to run allies, I think I understand why one would want to fluff-wise.
And yeah I like the sound of this phase I think it will greatly simplify the mechanic and feel more realistic as poor morale compels warriors to adopt an "every man for himself" mentality and flee piecemeal whilst others hold their ground.

Other than that, as long as it affects marines I'm ok with it!
Grots have *always* been intended to have a haemy/character with them to keep them in line. This just ensures that you do that.

| Another (extreme) example: 30 man unit, Ld 10. You kill 19. You don't need to kill any more, since they'll disappear in the morale phase. Or 20 orks, Ld 7. You kill 13, same thing.
A good way to remove hidden characters and ICs when they are hiding inside big units.

You take 2 casualties. its 1D6+2 Your LD 5 You lose 3 Models Um, that's assuming that you roll a 6. If you roll a 1, 2, or 3, then you lose no models.

| A new batch of rumors suggests that characters can't join units anymore but can only be shot at in 12 inches or when they are the closest model.
So no need to remove hidden characters.

And this is what I was talking about modifiers, we might get bonus LD modifiers, LD might even go up to 20 or 30 Especially Ork's, I can see them having a +1 LD for each extra Ork bought for each unit. This makes a 30man Blob LD30. You kill 10 Now they are LD 20 so at this point they still are in the "green" (Ha ha hahaha). - Barking Agatha wrote:

If the new rumor that characters can no longer join units is true, they may be in DEEP trouble!

| Maybe the Haemonculus give a Leadership boost to nearby units?
But how do you keep up with a unit in a fast Raider?

But how do you keep up with a unit in a fast Raider? This, I do no believe IC cant join units like in AoS, I believe the rumor is just someone guessing b.c its an AoS rule. 40k and AOS might be similar but there are some things that are completely different, 1 is vehicles and IC. B.c of vehicles, units like "court of Archon" and some others (GSC, Orks, Nids etc..), i firmly believe IC can join units. Tho there could be a rule that IC can join units inside transports, Also could they do Nids Tyrant Guards, DE Courts and other type of special units as exceptions? Yes, but i dont see them doing this.

| I am hoping we can get middling LD (say 6 or 7), but then get buffs for every model that unit kills. Say your Grots kill off 5 models, they are now LD 6+5 or 11! Very fluffy Power from Pain mechanic.
Haemonculi could increase this bonus.
Chronos: All units that kill a model while within 12" of a Chronos get +2 to their LD
Also, Please give us back all our LD shenanigans. Love those. I'd be so happy if we could use the moral phase to do some serious damage to units.

| I hope others won`t get to much options for moral phase, or it will be we, who take some serious damage... | |

But how do you keep up with a unit in a fast Raider? If its anything like the Kharadron Overlords in Sigmar then the 1 unit per vehicle rule will be gone.

| Covens: Ld X+1/game turn.. that would work.
And transports: just limited by capacity, so you can get as many units as you can fit in. 5 kabalites + 5 wyches in a raider? Unless Splinter Racks give you additional fire points, I can see it working.
