| that could be pretty weird, flying down and using the blades on the wings... but how would the monolith attack back? | |

Now I'm totally going to have to purchase a second one to paint in Starscream's colors.

I also suspect this is the case. We know the design team has given flyers their own special-snowflake attention, as now "flyer" is it's own unit type, a change I applaud as I think it was needed considering many players prefer not to use flyers at all, and it always felt weird to put a flyer in either Fast attack or Heavy support categories, but I digress. That being said, there is nothing stopping @TeenageAngst from making your own rules for Razorwing melee capability. Best of luck!

| Flyers always appealed to me, especially after Death from the Skies. Things like break turns, reserve shenanigans, and flight formations made sense and added a nice tactical layer to the game. Here's hoping a lot of that was incorporated. | |

Death from the Skies was a hateful abomination, I hope it was thrown out back and set on fire.

| Flyers where a nice addition, and I really liked the idea of them, but they way they were implemented had me anooyed a little bit. Also since except evading them I had no real idea how to shoot them. They suffered from the same problem that superheavies had, it let to a more rock paper scissors syndrome. Where some people could barely hurt them and others walked all over them depending on the list. At least they were usually slightly cheaper then the superheavies thus each flyer had a lower impact on the game and they were not really possible to play normally as the unit type of unit. | |

How can making our jet fighter worse at the only thing it's good at (anti-infantry) without making it better at anti-flyer be considered a good thing?

| How is getting pseudo vector dancer, being almost universally better than any other flyer in the game, being hit on 6 by almost everything, getting reserve manipulation, getting bonus from the formations, all for a -1 bs, which is not that influent on the scatter roll of missiles considered worse? | |

| DFtS was not even good enough to call worthless. It made an excessively cumbersome and often illogical game even moreso. I refused to play it. Anything spilling from it into 8th had better be extremely well incorporated. Even then I'll flip tables. | |

| I notice the people who hate DftS never actually used it's rules. They just complain from concept rather than experience. | |

I like the rules for pages 57-58. The "off the table phase" is what was stupid. my local used the Agility and "Fighter/Bomber/Attacker" rules and we thought they were completely fine. We actually email them and GW basically told us that only Page 57-58 are required (the Agility, Attacker Bomber and Fighter rules). Oh we also used the Formation rules if someone wanted too, no one used them tho b.c anyone with good fliers already had good formation for them, it basically gave DE an equal formation to SW, Eldar, BA's etc..

| So the only bad/boring part is the optional one, yet everybody is complaining about a perfectly good book, just because some SM player said it's bad since the don't get buffed and It stuck. | |

| Basically, yeah
The only part of it I didn't enjoy was the off the table, flyer v flyer roll off. Felt kind of pointless and added an extra phase that really didn't need to be there.

I used them. Twice. Each time I said, "That's the most ridiculous and needlessly cumbersome thing they could possibly have added".
