If poison remains I could see it being our army wide "thing" even more than it is now. Like Wyches getting it, and Wrecks getting a better version of it.

^This or possibly Wyches get 3 attacks base.  That is my guess.  That number of attacks makes them perfect for taking on Swarms since they have no Rend on their melee weapons.  Incubi for Elites, Wyches for swarms and tying up units, Hellions for all-rounders that don't need to worry about relying on a transport, Reavers for bringing melee to backfield units or Special weapons like Heat lances and Blasters to big things.  But honestly I'm just talking out of my butt.

At the absolute minimum I think Wyches will have 2 attacks base.  No other explanation could exist for "most improved unit."  I will be so disappointed if they merely get what we've seen, along with marginally better Combat drugs and a price reduction and called it a day.  But I also highly doubt that heh heh heh...
Also, being a dedicated close combat unit I would expect them to be WS 3+ based on an earlier article saying most dedicated units will hit on a 3+ and the really nasty characters like Drazhar on a 2+. Hitting on 3's and extra attacks would be a good boost to their damage output through sheer volume of dice.

Wouldn't be an extra attack since they'd lose one attack for two close combat weapons.

Maybe the drugs are getting better? Like choosing the results and stuff that is actually worth it?

Unless I missed something, no official source has stated that units lose an attack for having a second close combat weapon; they've just said that pistols no longer grant an additional attack.

Yes. And most close combat units have a close combat weapon and a pistol.
So that pistol no longer grants the additional attack.
That way, with the change to the chain sword, Assault squads still get the same number of attacks and the pistol shots in the Shooting phase.

I wonder if chaos Marines will have chain swords as standard. Probably not.
