| I'm particularly enjoying your wrack pilot, some good subtle conversion skills there. I'm thinking about converting an Incubi gunner for one of my venoms, but that's a long way off yet! | |

| I would think that the Incubi gunner would be fairly easy if you have a Dremel. the torso is about the same width as a Kabalite. The width of the Incubi stance may be a bit of an issue between the narrow walls off the Vanom passenger compartment, but not entirely prohibitive. Good idea! | |

| I'm generally quite loquacious, but words fail me.
Tip o' the hat to you, sir. Top notch work!
And bonus points to this thread to exposing me to wet palettes! I had heard the term, but having never seen one, I always assumed that it referred to wet blending as apposed to dry brushing. My head exploded at the revelation. I was a drawing and painting major for three years before I switched to sculpture, why have I never seen one before now!?! Shame on UGA. Yet another reason to be glad I transferred.
Anyway, bravo! | |

| ^Wet palettes certainly are where it's at! Aberation is almost done: Highlights in the morning, weather the pipes on the base, and the big fella will be done! Archon gets paint tomorrow night, Raider Friday night. Should be done for Saturday? | |

| very nice! The blue on the mask make the grill really pop. I will be learning how to use a wet palette next weekend (I did try and make my own before, but was never happy with the results). | |

| And he's done! Thought I'd post a picture with his buddies: I have to take the dog for her run, but will finish their minder (Archon with PGL) when I get back. [u]To-do list for Saturday: -Archon -Raider for Wracks Putting some coffee on now... | |

| I dropped my fricking Archon while painting him!! Snapped the forearm of the pistol arm in half I glued it back together for now. Not the most excited about how the model is coming together, but it will get done by the tournament. I don't use an Archon very often and can't seem to get that attached/motivated/inspired to paint the guy whole-heartedly. Progress pics: I'll paint some teal runes on the outside of the cape and some sort of runes on the inside lining. Not my best work, but it will be done enough for Saturday's tournament. Sleep for now... | |

| Done for now: I'll put the teal runes on the outside of the cape at a later time. I really need to get that Raider presentable by tomorrow morning for the tournament. It turned out a little better than I thought it would last night, but I'm just not that excited about it so far. Revised to-do list for 2-18-12: Wrack's Raider! | |

| Very nice. While I am personally not very into helmetless DE, at the same time, the way you paint their skin looks particularly awesome. | |

| Lil late to the show, but what a show! Spent a good wod of time going back through the pages and admiring. Love the colors and the conversion work. They all rock! I also hear you on how annoying raiders are to paint. It smarts even more when a freshly painted raider gets shot down by bolters a few turns in.
I'm not a carnival of pain man, but dig the grotesque work, super excellent pose.

| Well deserved indeed! Congratulations!
What are your frivolous ideas? Maybe a Haemonculus "Mad Hatter" tea party objective marker? Oh man. That was the most frivolous thing I could think of off the top of my head as a joke, but I kinda want to make that now. Lol.

I owe you big-time Gobs....but not that big To quote the great Meatloaf: "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that!" @DG-Maybe some cool objective markers could work to satisfy my frivolous itch I did start painting Hellions today though. I guess it's no rest for the wicked. Although, I did pick some cheap Eldar Jetbikes on Ebay....

Beautiful conversion for the Baron, what did you use for his torso and cape?

Beautiful conversion for the Baron, what did you use for his torso and cape? Wlecome to the site and thank you for the compliment! I used the torso and cape from the High Elf Dragon Mage. You can buy them cheap on Ebay from Hordes o' Bits or others. HOB was selling these for around $1.99 (Buy it now price) with cheap shipping. I stole the idea from Speedfreak and Dez on this site. They used a different torso than I did (the Dragon Mage kit comes with 3 different ones). The one that I used had to be trimmed a bit to make it fit, but turned out pretty well. You can see some of the unprimed shots of the conversion in this thread and the Archon's Challenge on this site. PM me if you try it and run into any snags that I might be able to help with if you need it.

| Thank you! Horde o'Bits has long been one of my main destinations for conversion parts. I really like your use of raider rudders for the wings on Sathonix's skyboard. I may do something similar. | |

| Proof that I'm alive, though not productive these days: Not too productive on the DE painting front. I plan on getting these 9 done for Stage 2 of the Archon's Challenge, though just barely... I'm doing some work on putting together things for my next project: Corsairs! I'm planning on putting together a 1,000 pt list to ally with my DE for an Apocalypse game this Summer. the list is just too juicy to pass up. I'm ordering some of the Corsair conversion packs for the jetpack infantry and special weapons with recent birthday money. One of my two Falcons that I picked up on Ebay CHEAP! | Well done with the best painted army ESE, it's well deserve. I know you're not that excited by it but I really like the Grot' Minder Archon. It's well presented, crisp and fits in with the rest of your army well. But then again I have a soft spot for Archons. Can't wait to see how your frivolous Corsairs turn out. Any plan's on a colour scheme for them yet? | |

| Sweet! I'm always glad to see more Corsairs.
I was planning on having my converted craftworld units double as DE and also be used as an allied force using Corsair or CE rules for Apocalypse battles as well.

| Great project log. Just skim read it looking for some inspiration and thought I would register.
I've just been working on a razorwing copying studio theme but not overly pleased with it!
Was going to go for purple scheme but wasn't pleased with my purple test kabalite. Yours look great though!

Ha ha, thats the whole freaking range! Every DE model looks to be simple, but some how takes more time to paint than any other army ive had. It's weird, so yeah, I share your pain. Those Hellions look awesome ESE, love the colors!
