Sick, isn't it? I love the Wracks ESE, beautiful work as always. I finally started my 15 last night. I doubt that I will finish them for this month's painting vow, they are fantastic models and as much as I would like to try and get them approaching your standard, that would probably take me another whole month .... or two.

I finally started my 15 last night. . @Gobs: Take your time with them. They really are some of my favorites to paint of the entire range(despite the rather static poses) @Foo: I think all of the coven models are starting to make me feel like descriptions of Grotesques being driven into combat by drugs and stimulants My brushes(ALL OF THEM) took a dump on me tonight and I couldn't finish painting the Venom I'll pick up brushes tomorrow. Gave me some time to convert that Haemonuclus(finally). I really wanted to use the Haemi's head for my coven Venom pilot and have had Necron Flayed Ones claws that I bitz ordered(remember those? Dating myself) years ago for my old 3rd edition DE for scissorhand conversions. Without being able to paint I had time to finally do up the conversion. I might see if I can finish the Venom tomorrow after picking up some brushes and then paint the Haemi Thrusday-Friday to enter it into a painting contest at the LFGS. (I am entering the Wracks and their Venom into the 40K squad category) I used the hair dryer trick to heat up the arms and base bend them a bit for a slightly different pose. Can you name the head?

| Looking awesome as always I'm just about to start my own Venom and I can see you're painting the pilot and the hull separately, do you just paint all three main parts (hull, pilot, and the underside) and then glue everything together? | |

Exactly. I use the method above, then spray them with a matte varnish before gluing on the windscreen which I paint with brush-on primer and paint. Makes life much easier

| Those are just beautiful. Something about your painting style really suits Coven units. I thik it maybe the cold blue tones used, but you have done a really great job.
I'm loving the Haemie, by the way.

| Those look great, the headswap with the DE heads really does a lot for those models. | |

Agreed, those DE heads really look great on these models, much more dynamic than the generic ones.

| Great looking corsairs! I will agree with the others, DE heads look exceptionally well on Eldar units as I've found in my own experience as well. | |

| @Bippity- I haven't used Corsairs as allies yet (I only play with painted models for that army, and these guys aren't there yet ) I have used them as a stand-alone army in the escalation league at the LFGS. They play much like a shooting DE list having mobility and firepower. They are woefully lacking in CC troops, though I haven't tried Harlequins in Venoms...YET They seem to be the perfect allies for DE in that they complement what DE do well (mobility, firepower) while adding to this with range (missile launcher-armed jetpack troops, Hornets with 2 Pulse Lasers/Scout FTW) I am ordering a Warp Hunter when the escalation league hits 1000pts...maybe two Thanks for the complement on the DE heads. I view Corsairs as being something between Eldar and DE. With the kits being so interchangeable, it seemed obvious to use DE heads to make Guardian bodies look a little more interesting. Using a Hellion head changes a Guardian from uptight-pussboy citizen-soldier to PIRATE GUARDIAN WITH BS4! I posted this pic(I think) a while ago, but thought I'd repost it while we are on the topic. These are two of the Bladesworn on foot that I started a while back using Dire Avenger bodies and a DE head. I plan on painting their and the Prince's armor black with turquoise sashes/bands, purple gems to distinguish them from the rest of the army. I just love the damned Hellion heads too much. | |

| Now those are nice! Really looking out to see them painted. BTW i like your corsair armour scheme. It gives them so cold look, perfect for space raiders. | |

| Worked on the test model for the jetpack squad: Still have one more layer of highlights on the black and need to clean up the dragon emblems, but this is pretty close to where I'll be going with these. I should be able to paint them up faster now that I know my colors. WAY behind on painting for the escalation league(we're at 750 this week!) I plan on getting 5 of the jetpackers done Friday, the 6 Corsair jet bikers by the end of the weekend. Might get started on the Prince using black armour, turquoise sash/cape, magenta gems somewhere in there. I've got to get this army ready for the two Warp Hunters that I ordered last week | |

| Got the first 3 riders done for the Corsair jetbikes. Hoping to get the unit done to use as allies for the Apoc game on the 1st. I finished magnetizing the Prince's jetpack as well. Looking at the picture, I just realized that I didn't apply the blue glaze. It never ends I'm going to airbrush the canopies on the jetbikes once the Warp Hunters finally get here. | |
