| Only war (essentially 3 missions), 3 open play, 6 narrative, and 12 matched x 6 deployment. I count at least 84 possible missions. Of course, playing the same matched play mission only changing the deployment zones won't be radically different - unless you also change the terrain! I am loving these new missions! | |

But the other missions might be more like "only war" where there will be multi options on the missions. We havent seen them yet.

| Keep in mind that every Maelstrom mission is basically different because you got other cards on your hand each time. | |

| to quote the article's "only war" part at the beginning, "The Armies" paragraph:
"Sometimes you may find that you do not have enough models to field a minimum-sized unit (this can be found on each unit's datasheet); if this is the case, you can still include one unit of that type with as many models as you have available."
Now, aside from having to rely on a player's word in a case like that, it does open up interesting options. I'm fairly certain that there will be units that are almost as effective, but way cheaper if fielded below MSU size. (Also that means i can field my 1-man grotesque unit? Well, 2 man, if you count the 1 old metal grotesque i have as well) Actually... heh. Yeah, i might just do that.

| I wonder if that rule will be respected in competitive play? It might sort of be how "unbound" was a rule in 7th, but basically never allowed in any tournament anywhere.
It does support GWs unfortunate habit of selling models like the grotesque in unit sizes that don't make sense from a gameplay perspective, though.

| New missions are nice but the thing that steams my hams is the new deployments. How many times did you groan at merely having to do table corners? Now we have circles, quarters, fractals, non-Euclidean geometry, Koch snowflakes, etc. | |

| Are there actual Fractals deployment zones
If so: Incoming Harlequin themed Tzeench Daemon list that counts as Imperial Guard being commanded by CREEEEEED (represented by Eldrad's new model with the old Archon (Asdrubael) head).
