So i played a game of 8th recently and took 4 Ossefactor and 6 hexrifles and i have to say that they preformed quite well. I must admit i did not think the hexrifles would really do much, but i love the fluff on them, and with the new sniper rules allowing them to target characters I figured it would give me a decent chance at slaying my opponents characters (two necron overlords). Well upon inspecting my list before the game he figured out that i was going to try to focus fire his hqs and hid them quite well so i was forced to adapt my strategy. what I used them for mostly instead was to add fire to units that others were shooting before they charged and hit small units of elites. my hexrifles were fairly spread out but they still were able to overlap and hit one unit most of the time. And later in the game i did drop a full wound overlord with one volley of hexrifle shots mostly due to the dice rolling gods showing pity on me. as for the ossefactors they consistently dealt wounds, and i tried to shoot multiple into one unit before charging, if i hit very few of them failed to get past a save, and those extra mortal wounds are nice. Over all my group of talos and cronos and my unit of grotesques did the heavy lifting but the support fire was nice, and easily paid for the cost of their points. It could of been a fluke, but i am liking both of those weapons quite a bit so far. Ill be playing again next week i think vs necrons and some space marines ill try a similar list and see how it goes.
