His list (from memory)
Long Strike? A named Hammerhead
1 Hammer Head
3 x 10 Fire Warriors
1 unit of path finder
1 named pathfinder
2 Ghost Kill with 2 drones
1 unit of Stealth Suits
1 Unit of vespid
3 Crisis Suits
1 Commander.
Some other unit...like small firewarrior but with some kinds of rifle.
I finish deploying first (mandrake are deployed in reserve).
All his army is on the table except the vespid, the crisis and the commander.
Turn 1.
I move everything aggressively forward. One gun boat on each flank, the incubis and the character's raider in the middle flanked by the venom with the wyches. The Mandrakes arrive on each flank. The ravager kill the nameless hammer head and I put a couple of wounds on the ghostkills with the rest of the army minus the Mandrakes. My little shadow murder a unit of warrior in front of LongStrike and damage another one near his pathfinder.
His vespid arrives and murder the raider on my right flank. The suit and their commander damage a ravager. Pretty much everything else is ineffective.
Turn 2
Everyone disembarks. My shooting is decent, I take nearly half his wounds from LongStrike. Mandrakes charge the vespid and a unit of fire warriors (the one against the vespid lost 3 to overwatch!). The incubis and all the character charge a ghostkill annihilating it. Warriors charges into longstrike (I forgot he had fly!) and the other ghostkill. The wyches charge the stealth suit.
On his turn he retreats with everyone, damage some ravagers and a venom. I lose a couple of warriors Not much else.
Turn 3
The ravagers end LongStrike. He lose a squad of fire warrior. He's down to 1 stealth suit which is charged by a unit of Wyches. Warriors charge the vespids killing a few. Mandrake charges the fire warriors again. I keep loosing models to overwatch. The other wyches units kill his commander in shooting (helped by one ravager of course) and charge his crisis. My characters save one archon charged the ghostkill with the incubis, killing it but loosing the incubis. The other archon charged the full fire warrior squads and killed then slowy over the next rounds.
His crisis fails to retreat (thanks to no escape) which save at least one, possibly two ravagers. He retreats with everyhing bu the vespids who proceed to die at the hands of the Sybarite. Nothing of note happens.
Turn 4
A venom and the wyches retreat from combat with the crisis (forgot to mention but I always soaked overwatch with transports when possible). The ravagers open fire on the crisis wiping them. My opponent conceded.
I lost only 1 raider which is amazing. Charging with our vehicles, retreating next turn only to be able to shoot without penalities is so powerful I would be tempted to call it broken. My opponent could do the same but I can see myself shutting down a whole IG gunline with my list.
I had 9 CP but only used like 2-3 points. I was always the one charging and didn't really need to reroll dice. I think I'll drop the stock archons and shuffle some points here and there to add a Razorwing. 6 CP will be plenty enough imo. Dark Lances performed amazingly, which is a nice chance from the previous editions. I'm still not sold on 8th (there's some annoying changes) but at least it seems good for my DE, I just wish they had more flavor.
