| Didn't you hear? Due to massive Galaxy Wide (GW - see what I did there? ) warp storms the services of Google Webway (did it again ) maps are unavailable. Hopefully it is only temporary until a new "how to navigate a daemon-ridden webway for dummies" is released. | |

| Don't worry the codex will fix everything. | |

| The index can best be described as functional. It gets the job done but with zero flavour and with certain glaring omissions. | |

Absolutely, and even more devoid of flavour! They surgically removed anything that might be regarded as distinct or unique in the 7e codex and have yet to add it back in. In fact, they took even more of it away!

| All the relics, vehicle upgrades (Eldar kept theirs), Coven Ld debuffs. Everything that made the army distinct from any other army. | |

| While I agree that a lot of special stuff is gone I do not think it is as bad as you say.
Our poison, PFP and speed (heavy weapons count as assault on a skimmer) and some morale stuff (PGL) are still there. So I say we still have the major things that makes dark eldar dark eldar.
That being said, a lot of the specific details are lost on that I completely agree. But I would consider this less "all flavour lost" as more a loss of special items which you could have a maximum of 1 in a game because there are supposed to be like 1 or 2 in all of commoragh.

| Hopefully they'll give us some more deepstrike capability.
Two of the best gems of 7th edition Dark Eldar were the Webway portal and the Kabalite Stormsurge formation (I want them back, so bad).
With that in mind, I also hope the codex release improves the Shredder so that it actually becomes a useful piece of wargear.

| The Kabalite Stormsurge formation (Warzone Valdor book, where Craftworld and DE right Tyranids). It was honestly the best DE formation from 6th and 7th Ed in my opinion, but unfortunately was Apoc only. Basically all your units deepstrike without scattering, and they counted as flyers for the turn they came in, and had strafing run for extra laughs. But.. it's gone now. But yes.. some more deepstriking tools for 8th Ed Dark Eldar would be awesome. | |

| I'm honestly really disappointed with out Deep Strike Options in 8th. I hope it will be rectified soon, but there was a certain joy in bringing down BlasterBorn Venoms, Splinter Rack Raiders, and just about everything else in the codex Turn 2. For me at least, only having two units that can stay in reserves has really sucked a lot of the fun from DE.
Ah, well. At least Venoms don't auto-explode to Lascannons anymore.

| Bring back WWP and allow our skimmers to deep strike and I think we really have a shot at being the most maneuverable army in 8e. | |

| The easiest way to implement webway portals would be to give the webway portal carrier an ability that works similar to daemonic summoning. This would actually be preferable to previous versions, as it would allow you to set aside a 'sideboard' of sorts, and portal in what you need for a particular match. | |

| Not sure how demonic summoning works but I like the sound of it. I like that suggestion krayd, soundslike a fluffy way of doing it. | |

| How it works is REALLY COOL!
You dont take "X" amount of poitns (Lets say 500pts), when you "summon" you pick a unit from your codex and "Summon" that unit given the rules of the power (some powers say they DS, some say within X inches of the summoner etc...)
Its basically a Sideboard that you bring on through a character.
The bad thing about it is, if those characters die you cant summon, but a WWP acting like the summon would be AMAZING.

| Sideboard points kind of ruin the fun of summon lists. The entire point was you ran ineffective stuff that summoned on support. Now you just run ineffective stuff that summons on more ineffective stuff a little at a time :/ but for the WWP it would work. | |
