| So, I love a WWP and I love my Talos. I am perfecting the use of them but was looking for some help. My strategy is to have a haemonculi in a raider use eithersails to jet into position turn one. He opens the gate on turn two, and my Talos roll out turn three! I have had some success. However, if the Talos show up on turn two they have to walk on from board edge. I am looking for a way to slow them down... I have tried a com relay and it doesn't really work very well. I thought about Scrier's Gaze, but the chance of getting it is not reliable.
What I really need is something to slow down the reserve mechanic so that I can be (reasonably) sure my talos will show when I need them to. Does anyone have any ideas? Perhaps something I could combo with the comms relay? Is there anything that will modify the reserve roll in the DE or Eldar list that I am not thinking of?
Let me know. RB | |

| Not that I'm aware of. Have you tried putting grotesques and a FF on the raider?
Put the raider sideways as close to your enemy's deployment as you can, rotate it for an extra two inches, move forward six inches, disembark six inches, then deploy the WWP? It will allow you to put the WWP a little over half the table length in most deployments, a little less if the raider explodes. And of course you're only using grotesques because anything else will likely get shot to pieces.
Other wise you're always relying on luck. 55% is the best you can do with rerolls (I think), so the strategy will fail half of the time.

| Your going to have the most success with getting your WWP open in turn one. That way, regardless of when your Talos turns up, it can enter through the Portal. I know that is not the answer you are looking for, but some things are unavoidable. | |

| Yeah getting the portal up Turn 1 makes most sense to me, especially since I can't thin of any way to make your particular plan more reliable.
Why are you set on him emerging turn 3? If you deploy the WWP turn 1, you're still ~14" up from your DZ which is quite respectable. Talos emerges Turn 2, moves 6", can't charge anyway, either shoots or runs another 3.5". You're only really losing out on a turn of movement, but your giant smashy spiky T7 3+ monster is already in their face and can move further. That's an extra turn to use his weapons to get that first pain token, or run him to contest or scare appropriate targets.

| Consider a Haemi grouped with E/rangers and you can come in from reserve and outflank, throw WWP then use cover to survive and then link up with Grots when they come out to play. Too bad that you could not deploy with and use scout moves, infiltrate. | |

If an IC does not have Infiltrate special rule then he cannot join a group to do so. None of our HQ can, unless u roll it on the Warlord Table

None of our HQ can, unless u roll it on the Warlord Table Whilst they can't infiltrate there is nothing to stop them from outflanking. Of course that does mean that your WWP will not even be on the table until at least turn 2, it's random what edge it arrives on and you could easily have your Talos arrive before the Haemi.
