| well just today i played my first game in 8th with the drukhari my army at 1000pts was
1 archon 1 succubus 10 kabalite warriors + raider 10 wyches + raider 10 wracks + raider 1 ravager
i played with a necron againts tau and primaris marines
i loved the new raiders how they can hold againts enemy fire is awsome it was pretty nice we kill almost everything of our opponents I only lost the wrack unit and my parter ( iron puppet really drukhari dont need souless bugs to play) only a unit from his necron warriors
at the end of the battle my primaris oponnet who lost everyone but the gravis captain and the plasma guys said the raider are too much and was too chese from my part to play with that
i said the only way to use wyches and kabalites and wracks is on raider that i played that since 6th but he insisted in the idea that riders are op
so what do you think are the raiders that overpower unit he is afraid or what
thx
att drakonnis Kabal of the shadow dragon

| Sounds like he's a sore loser who has never met true cheese. Grey Knight Rifleman Dreads in 5th were o.p. Raiders now? Just good. | |

| Did you tell him they costed half the points in the previous edition, while having the same weapon loadout ? Tssss, cheese. Coming from someone who jumped on the new Primaris faction as soon as it got out, this is ridiculous.

| Usually this reaction is coming from the inexperience of the said person. Raiders are one of the best transports in the game, true, but nowhere near any cheese. | |

| Funnily enough, I had a Necron player say something similar to me: Raiders are way too cheap for what they do and their firepower is far too good.
I didn't have the heart to tell him that if he just ran more quantum shielding (ANY quantum shielding) then I may have had a bit more trouble.

| I love me some Raiders with Kabalites inside. They're very good but not quite cheese. There's only so many wounds that you can save with 4+/5++, and if one mean monster manages to catch one in CC... *shudder* | |

| Field a flyer wing of Imperial Guard Vultures armed twin punisher cannons. 43 shots of S5 for only 160 points. Now that's some Gouda.
But to actually address the topic, Raiders are great this edition. Not nearly as fast as last edition, but way more survivable, and decked out with some great weapons that can really put a hurting on multiwound models. Still not as "blisteringly fast" as I'd hoped, but for what we got? I'll take it.

That actually makes my DE feel a lot more flavourful than in 7th. Just this small thing. Unique, awesome...

| It's a good thing you didn't run venoms then ... A negative 1 for him to hit 12 splinter Cannon shots (if you take the second cannon) and moves faster then the raider ... Also does not suffer from a degrading profile ... I fear the primaris mahreen player's head would exploded from that cheese ... | |

They may not go as far sure but they can go 14 and still fire as can the occupants which is huge and it can go another 2d6 and still fire at -1. Far faster while also being an effective vehicle rather than just repositioning
