| Does anyone know of any DE-painter out there?
Some way to test colour schemes without models. similar to this http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/406545.page
It would be great to have on the site.

| No. Vincenzo asked about it too a while ago, but no one knew about one. I have seen an Ork one and a Beakie one, but that's all.
Yes, if it could be done, it would be huge for this site.

| Ok, techno-hippy (me) took a hint. Actually I have more free time than I've expected AND I want to make "IT portfolio" soon, so may handle that one.
[edit] huh... it don't look too bad. Tried using Flash first time ever, seems a little like CSS and C++. For now I've managed to make rectangle that may change colour. Somehow I have problems with PNG files (because I want make several "pieces") but after 2-3 hours of learing... Yep, probably gonna do it before 2012.
Maybe even before november 2011 (that's like 2 days).

| Holy crap, it appear that I'm nerd. Not dorky "hipster", but 101% '90 nerdy computer geek. http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1319845798 Consider it as demo. You don't need to click colours, just hover above them. It's not good at all... but I'm proud as hell . btw anyone know how to put this darn thing into post? I've tried using this lil' "flash" button... maybe different hosting? | |

| Thanks ESE. Just... realised something. Most of "army painters" work as follows: We have monochrome (black and white) shadow&highlight bitmap that is tinted with "base colour" so some parts are in lighter shade (highlights) of colour and some in darker (shadows). However what if we want this effect: Fail? I guess I need to incorporate both "base colour selection" with "base colour bitmap" and separate "highlight colour selection" with "highlight colour bitmap". This would be... complicated a bit. Also want to get rid of B&C style interface, when You need to select every single $%^& piece of armour and pick from menu what colour You want use... no. I go with "select colour + highlight, then klick parts You want to colour" interface, a little like "paint bucket" tool in graphic programs. Also, would You like to have additional Wych and Wrack sheets? Bet You do Totally NOT gonna do it before november, however I should manage to make it till 2012. *Maybe* before Christmas. | |

| You know ESE (amigo?) and Blck Rven, I wanted to draw (with pencil) sheet for Wrack and Wytch akin to that but... https://thedarkcity.forummotion.com/t1348-local-ork-s-other-works#13829Hey, those already come in monochrome (and IMHO have potential to look better AND be easier to extract) so I figured out I can train BOTH Flash and Zbrush on that one. For someone that want to earn skills that's win-win. Nerd with lots of spare time and "willpower" (or lack of "brakes") is indeed dagerous creature... | |

| Nice the Zbrush is really good to(o?)
how awesome would it be to colour a 3D model and be able to spin it..Okay maybe I'm just pushing a bit. 2D would be very niceand quite a large project, 3D would be like : "Mad skills and way to much time"

| 3D spin would increase both size and time needed by X (X is how many angles we want to have) Probably gonna stick to 1 angle (only 2D picture). But slightly more (like 6x60 o or 12x30 o) seems like good addition... to DE painter mk II . [edit] Actually I'm gonna make some tests with 3D and drawings to see which one works better. [edit 2] Drawing. Also tried vector graphic but... fail. Probably that could work but I'm not so skilled yet. On the other hand "3D to 2D" would took me too much time... | |
