| I could see good from razor wing flocks, clawed fiends are nasty in CC but they have a difficult time getting there. So I just did a tournament this weekend and went 1-4. I see the need for lots and lots of lances. I could not bring down superheavys or mortarion if my life depended on it. | |

| I've tried pure kabal lists: agon archons, gunboats with blaster, incubi and ravagers only (didnt use blasterborn). The amount of lances, poison, CC and Raiders+Ravagers being able to charge shooty threats (guard/necron full blobs included) is enough to win, if played correctly. Do not underestimate our prowed vehicles... Do not fear being wounded by overwatch and CC, their shape allows you to minimize the number of enemy CC attacks in the first combat phase and even if you lose one vehicle in the enemy combat phase, the shooting potential of that unit has been denied for a turn. | |

| I'm with the guys that say you need lances. I've been doing very well taking a Ynarri / DE list against various codex armies, including the latest nid incarnation.
Ravagers w/3 DL are absolutely required. They'll wreck just about multi-wound model. Raiders are generally better than Venoms. If you take warriors don't expect them to do much other than distract the opponent and either hide or die.

Another fun trick with our long vehicles is "hip-swinging" into a combat you didn't declare a charge against. Say there are 2 leman russes next to each other. You can take the overwatch of one, but both is very risky. You declare the charge against one, take the overwatch, and park just under 1" away. Then when its your turn to attack, you can swing the end up to 3" to try to get within 1" of the leman russ you didn't charge. Most vehicles are really bad in close combat, so it doesn't matter if you bring a few more terrible attacks. Keep in mind, that you can't direct attacks against the unit you hip-swung into since you didn't charge it, but the raider isn't likely to finish off the first tank in CC anyway, much less the second. Then just fly out the next turn. | |
