| So...last I caught up on Dark Eldar fluff was in the 7th ed codex...where there was a demon gate, Incubi guarding it....Vect and Malys off fighting in the webway.... Has there been any changes to the story since then? I was sort of on the edge of my seat, excited that 'something' was going to happen involving the Dark Eldar... | |

| Yeah, in the terrible book 'fracture of Biel tan (don't buy) that all got retconned into insignificance and the lords of the dark city were turned into moustache twirling incompetents. | |

| Basically, the gate openned, daemon swarmed into commoragh. Vect fled with his buddies in a sub-realm well protected, while his ennemies fight against daemons. Kerrad...Ker...Ceradruath.....Decapitator finished a ritual and help push back the daemons with crap loads of mandrakes. | |

| Also the index was more bare-bones, with no warlord traits, artefacts and such, maybe in the full codex we get more characters, i really hope so. | |

Indeed. The Index was to make us (and all others) a playable faction until the time comes where we get our own codices. Fingers crossed we might get something of interest when tbe codex drops. New character models would be nice

| I'd love to see some characters, but have any of the established armies to receive a codex up to now had the inclusion of any new characters? I cannot think of any. | |

He was new, wasn't he?
Or new to 40K, at least. | |

Or new to 40K, at least. Yeah, I thought about Death Guard but they weren't an established army prior to this edition. I'm defining established as, had a codex, etc...sorry I should have stated that. ...even still, it kinda still makes my point: the SM and CSM bias is absurd.

| I believe they did say that they would be focusing on the Imperium vs Chaos conflict this edition but that was back in like febuaryish so I really can't say for certain but yeah. We xenos exist to be target practice. | |

| Mortarion and Magnus. He sub factions for power armoured armies i think of as kind of established, seeing as they had limited representation in the past. We are a smaller faction, so in lieu of sub factions I think it would be readonabke to include rules for characters we have already had but have been scrubbed. It isnt like asking for sub factions for multiple big Kabals or anything
Edit: Imperial Guard have/are getting (not sure on the release date) a Sly Marbo model afterall. I dont think it is too far a stretch
Edit 2: I guess that is for the Catachan. I assume the Catachan in the IG codex?

You're absolutely right, they did. So I'll wait and see if this coming year they alter their focus from imperium, but I'm not going to hold my breath. In the "story" of 40K, Imperium are the protagonists and Chaos Space Marines are the only utilized plot device. ...aaaaand then there is everyone else.

But in the world of GW, there is Imperium, then there is everyone else. Feels like the business model is focused around 60% Imperium, 20% Chaos Space Marines, 20% everyone else.

It is nusiness at the end of the day. I guess they have spent the history of the game trying to flog power armour to anyone new to the hobby and have built up a larger group of consumers. It makes sense to focus on them. At least they are doing it with a bit more love now than in previous editions

It makes sense to focus on them. At least they are doing it with a bit more love now than in previous editions I agree there is a least a little more of a bone thrown to us non-imperium armies. I also agree their choices to push Space Marines first, etc...is most likely due to the size of the fan base they've built up. My issue is that, that logic creates a vicious cycle - if you don't invest in anything else, generally speaking economies of scale will remain the same.

| I agree. I would so things differently if I was in their position, but as a lowly consumer I will just stand here and screech in defiance until I get my hands on a new Drazhar model | |

Aw man, you want a new Drazhar model?? I love the Drazhar model! Given that his armor is suppose to be archaic compared to what incubi wear, I think it looks great! I will, however, take a stand alone Vect model, although, I can't begin to imagine how Vect would fight as an independent being...to that point though - I cannot imagine a model who would have greater influence on those around him than Vect. Can you imagine the auras that guy would get? Me either, since GW doesn't give our HQs auras! Sorry! Couldn't pass up the opportunity!

| I love the current one. If they redid it I would want it in the style of the remade Ahrimam or Khârn: obviously close to the original but with better sculpting. | |

Kheradruakh also now is head mandrake over the lower area of Commorragh since he opened up the midnight dimension mandrakes come from. Lelith has agreed to help Yvraine if needed. Yvraine suspects her motives are more about keeping immortality. Lelith apparently hasn't ratted wherever Yvraine is to Vect. Vect and the Covens are actively plot revenge. Vect also claims to have captured Yvraine. Malys was mentioned to be spreading the word that Vect did not succeed in capturing Yvraine.
