| I have heard a lot of wish listing and wining about our dark kin. I would like to hear what is working out for people. MSU, BLOB, Kabal, Coven, Wych, Beasts? I personally still love my Kabal just trying to finds it nich. | |

| Darklight spam. If you do it right a raider can be putting out a staggering amount of darklight, which will tear apart most vehicles.
So yeah, Trueborn in Raiders is a good core. Add Ravagers and Razorwings as needed.

Incubi are pretty solid. They're easily our best melee unit, we just lack a good delivery vector.

| I am thinking WWP them in but so afraid of failing the charge. And perhaps put something with them for the 3CP. | |

| I had some success playing arount with venom spam + alaitoc allies. Everything -1 to be hit is pretty good. Dark Reaper are great against the meta and striking scorpions with a spiritseer to push them forward with quicken complement hellions coming from the webway against screens and the like. In them meantime wyches, kabalites and succubi/archon tie up the mid field. Worked ok, but many allies... less eldar, more flyer could be a thing | |

| I wonder if WWP large RZWFlocks in would not be a bad idea? and unfortunately the only allies I own is a fairseer skyrunner and 2 of the ynnari models. | |

| I don't think you would need many allies. Our troops, Transports, succi and flyers are all so very point eficient. We just miss a chapter tactic and stratagems. But good old venom+ darklight Spam does work. I would not put beasts in the webway as they do not have powe from pain and can"t reroll charges. The only thing I could see there are wyches, hellions and kabalites. | |

| Scourges with dark lances are awesome! I've been running 2 or 3 squads with 3 or 4 dark lances, sit them in cover from turn one or deep striking them. They always earn their points back. | |

| No love for mandrakes? -1 to hit, one of our only methods to access mortal wounds currently. as reasonable in melee as just about anything else we currently have and has an invl save, which is more necessary than ever. | |

| Mandrakes of this edition are a pale comparison to what they were last edition. 19 points for a 5++, no AP in close combat, and a -1 to hit? I'd rather have a 2+ cover save in any cover for 7 points less. | |

| I have not had much luck with my mandrakes yet this edition. They keep getting wiped out before the make there points back. | |

| Mandrakes are an offensive rather than defensive unit this edition. They are good, but easy to lose if you don't drop them in the right place. They along with the Ravagers have been my MVPs most games. | |

| My Mandrakes are getting plenty of shelf time as ghey take up Elites slots that I could use for more Darklight. The one time i did bring them out was, through no fault of their own but for horrible rolling, an absolutely epic farce. They killed 1 cultist with shooting before being wiped out by some lucky overwatch. | |

| For me my mandrakes actually do really well.
For me they really round ou the force, unlike most other units they can stand on their own, and can deal damage to nearly anything. Although they are slightly squishy, I found their damage to be worth it.

Incubi are pretty solid. They're easily our best melee unit, we just lack a good delivery vector. i had some good times with a tantalus filled with 10 stock scourges 5 incubi and an archon, advancing first round with its ridiculous 32 move right into the opponents soft side. The scourges, tantalus and archons blaster all fire with -1 because assasult weapons and next round in the confusion incubi with archon disembark and charge.

| I am very enthusiastic about mandrakes as they can be glorious if used right, but die horribly if deployed wrong. Scourges however never worked for me this edition and i really tried (Blaster and splinter). Even bough t a third squad | |

Scourges need Dark Lances to be really effective in this edition. Splinter Cannons in particular are just a waste of points on them.

| Yep. Scourges are good with DL or with nothing at all. All the rest is wasted points. - Quote :

Judging a DE unit by its defensive stats seems a bit odd to me. Mandrakes are more mobile, don't insta-die in CC and they actually deal damage (because Soulfire was such a useful rule).

| Oh noes when saying splinter, I meant naked! Did forget you can even put those on scourges. But a Cannon is more expensive than another scourge, so why should one do that? On the defensive side, venoms are by point the most durable thing we have because of the -1, or so I heared. I did not do the math. Even better than the harlequin Transport. Had good experience with them. | |

| I will totally give mandrakes another try and see if deployment was the issue. However my Incubi should I use them in a venom raider or WWP them in I only have 5 atm. | |
