That was indeed my thinking. I just think that ordinary buff bubbles are not representative of the fluff. Our HQs should have unique twists that sets them apart from others. We are Tyrants, dictators and ruthless combatants who see their minions as little more than meatshields or expandable assets.

Archon Retinue:

+1 BS, +1 LD, fire twice when within 6" of Archon.

Succubus Retinue:

+1 WS, +1 Attack, Fight twice when within 6" of Succubus.

Haemie Retinue:
+ 1 T, +1 Wound, regain d3 wounds per turn when within 6" of Haemie.

I'd rather see +1 to Inv save, and +1 to Inured to pain. More universal (applies more effectively to every Coven unit).

Regardless of buffs, I'd suggest changing it to "...when with 6" of an Archon, or embarked on the same transport as an Archon."

To eliminate the current nonsense, wherein a Court of the Archon can be right next to an Archon, but because they're on a transport they don't actually get the bonus for such.

Or better yet, have the Raider (and perhaps Venom) have rules that allow the aura to affect units embarked on or within 6". Make Open Topped allow them to interact with the world as if they were part of it.
