| Preface: I put this in Army lists because I wanted to discuss not only the tactics to use for these detachments, but also how you would change them. I've had very little experience tourney-wise for 40k, but I have participated in a "250+" tourney where every week would add another 250 points to your army list. I found it incredibly useful to play my army against a few other armies and think week by week: "huh... what went well, what didn't go well, what can I take next time to fix that?" So thanks for stopping by and giving this a read, I'd love to hear how you would use my "findings" and how you might change them to fit your play style and your local metas. Thank you in advance! (start) Howdy y'all. I too have been brooding (as we Archons often do) that we won't be getting our codex for awhile. All aboard the hype train someone said, and climb aboard we did. But this post isn't about that. Having seen several of the other Codexes that have come out, I have been absolutely floored by how powerful some of the stratagems have been. My intention then, is to simply explore, with what we currently have. How can I spam Command Points? naturally, this is in anticipation for stratagems of equal value to the other codexes. - Battalion Detachment:
I'll start with the Battalion detachment. the only thing required for this, is 2 HQ's and 3 Troops. Our cheapest base HQ is the Archon, and our cheapest troops are the Kabalites.
2 Archons and 3x5 Kabs is a total of 233 points. HOLY CRAP. For under 250 points, we can get 3 command points. That's 24 command points in a 2k point army. Although I'm not sure you want to run 16 Archons and 120 Kabalites alone. Dark Eldar gone Horde mode. Lol. So what if our archons can't go toe to toe in 1v1's? what about 5v1's?
- Brigade Detachment:
For the Brigade Detachment, you actually have to fill out the slots of your army. That being said, for 9 command points you only need 3 HQ's and 6 Troops. That's a better ratio than the battalion. But as previously said, you still have to fill 3 elites, 3 fast attack and 3 heavy support. Fear not fellow denizen! We have some simple tricks to pull here. 1) our cheapest Elite is the Lhamean, you "may" take her as a free slot because of the archons but you "may" also take her as an elite. 2) our cheapest fast attack turns out to be a pair of Khymerae 3) This blows. Our cheapest Heavy support is a Cronos. All in all, it totals to 9 Command Points for 822 points. your army would be: 3 Archons, 6x5 (30) kabalites, 3 Lhameans, 6 Khymerae and 3 Cronos. for under 1000 points that's not too bad. a lot of Chaff, but not bad. Use this is tandem with a Ynnari (cursed be their name, in my opinion) and you're looking at some hilarious shenanigans. albeit not as many shenanigans as before the soul burst nerf 
- Other Observations:
Elites: The Lhamean happens to be the cheapest Elite that we have, however, the Ur-ghul and Medusae are just a couple of points cheaper. Totally worth the switch in my book.
Fast Attack Pair of Khymerae are probably our best bet for this slot, cheap, invuln saves, cost effective, fast, annoying if they actually manage to tie down a big blob. Maybe use them as "extra attacks" for the archon.
Heavy Support The list contains basically no anti-armor, but that wasn't the point of the list to begin with. With the plethora of command points, dark lance ravagers would be prime. I'd say try to save your rerolls for damage, but if its the last lances you have, then it's acceptable to burn a CP to reroll a miss or failed wound.
So yeah, thanks again for reading, would love to hear what y'all think and how you'd change it. Upgrades, transports, different HQ's. Other detachments you might take. Which units might benefit the most from massed CP. Thank you! *Edit* forgot that the Archon's huskblade is 10 points, he's actually 58 points for an Agoniser or power sword. | |

| A question. What do you need CPs for? I am usually fine with... hell I am fine with 4 if need be. But 6 is my usual number. | |

Not true, there is a maximum of 3 detachments in a 2k army (I know since I would love to have 3 or 4 detachments in my 1000 point imperial guard), which greatly limits command point and imperial detachment spam.

| The original post is just food for thought on how to get Command Points efficiently as Drukhari.
Ideally though, they would be used for important rerolls and in anticipation for stratagems in the next codex.

| When we will have a Codex, we will be able to run a Brigade with not many efforts. Anyway, it's not the cheapest way, but I find Sslyths as the best unit in the Codex, and I like to play Vanguard detatchments with them. Battaglion+Vanguard is something like 3 Archons+15 Sslyths (21 if you want...) The court is good not only for soaking battaglions. You can build up a strong army around it, and bring more battalions at the same time  | |
