Where did all the equipment go?

Several Codices have their equipment cut drastically and replaced (or not) with stratagems, Eldar Autarchs losing their weapons and our archons their variety is a different topic but why are certain pieces of equipment exchanged for stratagems? they were meant to be the replacement for formations and not ,for example, splinter racks.
What do you think should never be a Stratagem and what else do/did we lose/ get?

EVERY single vehicle upgrade ? They kept the shock prowl, for some reason (coz everyone was playing that thing, right) and the Night shield (which is great). But trophies, sails, racks... all gone.

dont you worry, stratagems will cover all of this, you just need enaugh command points so bring the kabalites

Raiders that could move 24” a turn, jink for a 3+ cover save and have the passengers chuck out a balanced amount of poison at no penalty with a couple of Darklight shots peppered in for fun.

Though you could only shoot if you moved 6", right ? There's been a huge progress on that part with 8th edition.

Wasn’t it stationary, all weapons could be fired, 6”, one weapon could be fired and you had to snap shoot, the rest, 12” and the vehicle could only fire snap shots?

And then Flat Out a further 6” instead of shooting, which for fast Vehicles was 12” and Fast Skimmers was 18”?

But I think you’re right, 6”: passengers had moved, 12”, passengers snap shooting, Flat Out, no passenger shooting.

Massive step up for 8th.

Though pre-FAQ, you could jink in the previous turn for a 3+, move 6”, have the passengers shoot.

12-16 boats all with minimum squads or nothing aboard, using Aethersails and Shock Prows. The goal was to surround enemy units and then tank shock them, and since they couldn't retreat, you would end up removing entire chunks of units. Shock Prows allowed reliable S7 ramming attacks against armor, and the MSU style meant you could easily hold objectives while the opponent had virtually nothing of priority to shoot at.

that sound trolltasticly hillarious

The parking lot list was my favorite list. It worked more often than not and even when it didn't you scored so many turn-by-turn objectives that the opponent never came close to max points.

Keep in mind Guard and Eldar got some of their vehicle equipment back when their codexes came out, so there is slight chance that we'll get some of our equipment back.

GW hates the darkies, until i see the codex this is my stance.

we have also seen smth different, necrons lost the ability from lych guard shields to ricochet bullets and the save dropeed to a 4++ in 7th, now you get a stratagem to do that
im sure we will get some sort of aether sails or aether boost stratagem that lets one vehicle advance 2d6 if we are lucky 20"

Yeah it's turned out differently for different factions, but guard/eldar getting their vehicle equipment back gives me some hope.

20" is a pretty far move on top of our standard move, I'd expect 10" at best.

I don't know where you guys got that the Craftworld Eldar have a single vehicle equipment more in the codex than in the index... cause they don't.

Yeah. Lack of Holofields are one of the reasons my CWE are gathering dust at the moment. I dislike how GW handled the majority of the codex that they revealed, so I didn't bother to purchase it. I refuse to give money for a bad product, even if it means my main army sits out this edition.
