Beginner Wych Question

I've been out of 40K for...3 editions now, or so. I've been pretty much an exclusive DE player since around 2002, and 6th and 7th weren't fun for my preferred play style, and 8th didn't do much for me. I'm hoping the new codex will bring back my interest in playing (I actually started playing with Rogue Trader back around 1988 or so).

My question is simple, but it might be based on a misunderstanding of the rules.

With Wyches, once you get into combat with them, how do you prevent the target unit from pulling out their ubiquitous pistols and shooting the girls off the table, even if they are within 1" of the Wych unit?

In short, you don't unless the codex changes things. Pistols are a big issue for wyches and currently it looks like they haven't gained any way of avoiding them other than a 6++, so they at least have saves against pistols with an AP value

They have 6++ AND 6+++.

Currently, if you roll a lot of 6's, Dark Eldar is THE army to play (looking at you, Agents of Vect).
